good instruction video
I have done many trigger jobs, so to speak, using Apex products and videos, so this type of project was not too intimidating. This was my first outside of that manufacturer and I was impressed. I watched the video prior to receiving the "all internal kit" from MCarbo. I appreciate the presenter in the video. I felt like he was sitting next to me with patience necessary for me as I paused often to get through the process. I have not been able to go the range yet as I just installed the kit today, but anxious to do so in the next couple of weeks. The results of the parts kit compared to OEM... feels like night and day. The OEM felt very "mushy" and "gritty". It was not smooth at all, but it was adequate for the money spent on this PCC. The MCarbo kit makes if feel like it has a defined wall prior to break. The break is quite light for me now, I will have to get used to that. Amazing the difference. I had never polished any internal parts before. I was very pleased with the instructions on how to do that to the pertinent parts. You cannot visually tell I have done anything to this PCC to improve the performance of the unit, I looks like a sleeper if you have never fired a Sub2000 stock. I thought the parts kit was a little pricey, but so were all the Apex kits I have purchased over the years. After installed, the kit feels like it is well worth making a mid $300 gun (after rebate) perform like a $700+ gun, for $250. As stated, I have not shot it yet after parts kit, but anxious to see what the difference is. I was happy with the grouping and how it shot with all the plastic pieces, I hope that it blows me away so to speak when I shoot it now!
Sub-2000 Upgrade is the best!
I bought the entire internal parts kit a couple of the external ones. The stock Sub-2000 was marginal for a bug-out gun or a rifle that could easily be concealed. However, it was terrible to shoot. It has one of the worst triggers I have ever tried, mushing into the plastic guard before finally firing. I had problems with ammo feed as well. After putting all the parts in (by watching the video a little, installing a little and working my way through the installation), I found I had a rifle that is a delight to shoot with a great trigger! It was well worth the cost as it totally transformed this gun! Glock parts are now on order!
Night and Day difference
If you are expecting a crisp (AR GISELLE) type break and reset. This isn't it. But if you want your horrible stock keltec trigger gone, and a lighter, smoother, crisper trigger, this is the ticket. I had WAAAY to high of expectations. But after that initial let down, and a range trip, it is worth every penny. Honestly I had more fun installing it than anything. You will not be disappointed!
trigger upgrade
went together fine. went from 8.5 to 3.5 lb pull. only problem I had was the safety spring, lost it and had to order new one.
Sub2k trigger kit A+
The factory trigger is terrible. Admit it, it's a cheap gun so it gets a cheap trigger. I was hesitant on spending the money on a cheap gun but I gambled. It is an amazing difference. Money well spent. It took a little time to take apart, install and reassemble but the time was worth the wait. I highly recommend it and in fact, I'm debating on another one to keep in my buggy.
Great video to guide the install
I'm mechanically inclined but taking a firearm completely apart to do a trigger job is not something I would normally do. I watched the install video before I ordered the upgrade. I watched the video as I did the install and it made the process very easy. It took me about 3 hours to do this install and that includes the polishing time.
My sub 2000 now has a smoother trigger pull and I don't have to worry about future repairs as the rubber hammer bushing and plastic loading ramp have been replaced with steal parts. After just 150 rounds there was damage to the OEM rubber hammer bushing.
Great job on the components and the video!
This is what you want
If there are any upgrades to make to the Sub-2k, this is it. The oem trigger should be a crime to humanity. A heavy 9lb squish that'll kill your trigger finger in no time. This kit has everything you need for doing half an MCarbo upgrade. It's a little bit of a pain to install, but nothing too hard. Just take note there are two or three springs that may fly off into oblivion when you get the gun open, but besides that it's a good couple of hours learning how it's put together. The videos on the MCarbo site really help. He does a good job walking you through the steps. The only gripe I had about it is that I wanted to use the oem polymer trigger guard instead of the aluminum one, so it doesn't crack my fingers if they get in the way, but it's not so bad. The aluminum one smacks the same way the polymer one does on deployment. The reason you have to use the aluminum guard is because the new trigger is a bit longer than the oem trigger, and therefore the aluminum guard is a bit longer as well. My new trigger pull by the way is 4.5lbs now. It's soooo much better. And the squish is almost non-existent. As for the other parts that come in the kit, I'm still deciding how I feel about the necessity of them (only been to the range once so far), but they seem to be quality parts and well made. The polished feed ramp for example. Didn't know if I wanted one or not, but I got one now. It's pretty nice in the end. I didn't even need to polish it any more than about 20 seconds with the dremel. As for the new screws, I guess they're nice. I got spares now. The tool's that come with it are helpful. Overall the whole pack is a great upgrade. If I can get my groups a little tighter on the next outing to break in the barrel I'm going to love this rifle. So yes, if anything for the sub-2k is essential to have, this kit is it. Sorry for the rambling. You get alot.
Side note: Before you order, take note of everything that comes in the pack so you don't accidentally order extra parts you're already getting. They do try to save you a couple of bucks by bundling a few things, whether you want them or not.

Is this trigger bundle compatible with the Sub 2000 in .40 S&W?
Yes it compatible with the Sub-2000 .40S&W
What tools are needed to complete this project?
T2 October 28, 2022 9:29 AM
The required hex keys are included as well as the Universal tool. The only other thing that would help is a Gunsmith Bench Block and a dremel for polishing.
Will this fit the Integrally Suppressed CQB model?
Yes it will work in your CQB
Does the Kit fit a Marlin Model 60?
No this is only for the sub-2000 they are 2 different firearms.
Which trigger is preferred the curved or the flat trigger?
Can you say why one VS. The other?
Thanks , Kenny
It is all on the owner's preference. Usually if you are going to be using gloves, the flat will allow for more clearance.
