The flip up mount is theoretically a great idea. You just have to make sure your optic will work with it. My optic is too tall for the mount. The reason the height matters is because the optic hits the frame of the mount when I tip it to get it onto the rail. As such, I can’t tip the optic enough to get it onto the rail. The only way this mount works with my optic is if I buy a mount for the right hand side of my gun, not the left hand side. That way, the mount has clearance for my optic to tip and go on the rail. End of the world. Maybe not. But I would have to operate the mount with my other hand, which I don’t want to do. More important: This company is ridiculous. I’ve been trying to contact them to ask questions about this for over a week. Web site says they call back in 24-48 hours. I’ve left 3-4 messages over last 6-7 days (4-5 business days). Wen site says to email for quicker response. I’ve also sent at least 2 emails over last 5 business days. No reply to anything. That’s infuriating. I don’t see any reason to ever buy something from a company that refuses to be reachable by ANY method.
