Gen 3 modding so far . .
Replaced the springs with the kit and also installed the flat trigger and singlepoint sling mount. Simple enough but took me longer thanks to out of date videos (I guess if you can't figure out the trigger spring changes you shouldn't be touching it).
This is the third Mcarbo trigger kit I've installed (Savage Axis and Marlin 795) over the years and another win.
The Results: down to 4 lb-2 oz.
Very smooth. Can't wait to see if it tightens up my grouping.
Must have upgrades
Installed spring kit, performance trigger bar, stainless steel hammer bushing, stainless steel feed ramp and carbon steel grip pin screw set on my SUB-2K. Install was very straight forward after watching the video three times. A definite improvement over the stock trigger.
Nice Reduced Trigger Pull
I bought and installed this spring kit along with the performance trigger bar, stainless steel hammer bushing, stainless steel feed ramp and carbon steel grip pin screw set on my SUB-2K. Install was very straight forward after watching the video. I did have to push out one of the aluminum pins as a screw was stuck so if you are working on your SUB-2K definitely get the carbon steel grip pin and screws. My highly calibrated itchy trigger finger noticed a nice reduction in trigger pull.

Spring kit upgrade
Replaced my spring kit using the Mcarbo Video as an aid.
After installing the spring kit, my spring tension was significantly less. My shooting groups are smaller due to less spring tension. Everyone that has shot my Kel-Tec Sub 2000 with the spring kit installed has upgraded their Kel-Tec Sub 2000. Great upgrade.

Only the Hammer Spring and the Sear Spring are compatible.
How does this light hammer spring affect hard primers, like Russian ammo?
You could experience Light Strikes or failure to fire (especially on double-strike-only primers). This isn’t a flaw in the spring — it’s due to how those primers are designed for military-grade hammer impact, not civilian match triggers.

If I did only the spring kit, it sounds like a lot of the mushy trigger pull goes away. I know the other parts add different benefits. I'm just looking for more of a 'wall' then break (using stock bar, stock trigger, etc). Is that what the springs do?
The spring kit alone will make things lighter and for most it gets rid of the mushy feeling. That being said with the plastic trigger you might still have some flexing. So I recommend our trigger up grade as well.

The spring kit will help reduce your overall felt trigger pull. A new trigger will help with that wall feeling as opposed to having a plastic trigger that will bend and flex. Metal trigger will let you feel that wall better and break it more evenly.
