KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Stainless Steel Hammer Bushing
The KEL TEC SUB-2000 Precision Hammer Bushing, crafted from 303 Stainless Steel, is designed to replace the factory's plastic bushing, which is known to wear, chip, and shift on the pin. This stainless steel bushing ensures a fixed, appropriate stand-off height, eliminating concerns of malfunctions caused by movement. The factory's plastic bushing can shift and lead to alignment issues among the Hammer, Sear, and Trigger Bar. Replacing it with our stainless steel version provides an added layer of security against internal malfunctions.
Developed by combat veterans at M*CARBO, this is a standout among KEL TEC SUB-2000 accessories. It's precision-machined to tighter tolerances than the factory part, ensuring it won't chip or shift. Suitable for both the KEL TEC SUB-2000 Gen 1 and Gen 2, it plays a pivotal role in improving the firearm's reliability and function.
Our Stainless Steel Hammer Bushing goes beyond just being an accessory; it's a performance-driven solution, ensuring everything stays in proper alignment, unlike the standard plastic molded part. Complete your SUB-2000 trigger job with a bushing that's built for precision and longevity. Upgrade to combat-ready performance with our CNC-machined 303 Stainless Steel Hammer Bushing, and say goodbye to issues associated with the plastic parts of the KEL TEC SUB-2000.

Drop in hammer bushing
This was an interesting endeavor installing this part. I purchased it along with a trigger bar, the stainless feed ramp. I am on a budget and could not afford the extra for the trigger and other sundries that was recommended. I do my own gunsmithing and have rebuilt many pistols, rifles and revolvers. I thought this would be a quick job after polishing the feed ramp and the hammer bushing. I know that the bushing did not really need polishing, but I was on a roll.
I re-assembled the firearm and it was as before, the charging handle had some resistance to it and was difficult to lock into the bolt lock slot. I dismissed this as it was new and I have not taken it to wring it out, 100-200 rounds, whatever it took. When I did get to the outback to try 'er, she fired one round and feed the next into the chamber. Second round was a light hammer strike on the primer. I rejected it and chambered another round. Still noticing the resistance in the charging handle. Squeezed the trigger and again, no ignition due to a light primer strike. Third attempt and same results. Dissembled the firearm again, and carefully examined the relationship of the hammer bushing, hammer and hammer spring. The hammer spring in conjunction with the Mcarbo hammer bushing set the hammer spring into the center of the slot cut out in the buffer tube. The hammer spring filled the gap in the buffer tube and beyond, compressing the spring laterally and causing a severe drag as the charging handle is pulled back to cock the hammer and put a round in the chamber. To rectify this engineering deficiency, I measured the hammer spring width at the point of assembly and ground out the buffer tube enough to allow it unfettered movement in the action and swing of the hammer. Re-assembled the firearm and ran the charging handle a few times checking the orchestration of the new parts installed. I did not want to change the dimensions of the hammer spring, as that would have compromised the shape and function of the spring, so the buffer tube minimum gap was enlarged to effect that there was clearance for the hammer swing to operate as intended. I wrote this for other self installers as a caution and to check the clearances of the above mentioned buffer tube in relation to the spring and hammer. It took some good time to correct the situation and now I have a fully functional sub 2000 to have the confidence to fire every single time the trigger is squeezed. I thank you for reading my review and I hope that this helps others as to the design flaws that occur with mass produced economical firearms.
A Very Nice Part
I bought and installed the stainless steel hammer bushing, stainless steel feed ramp, performance trigger bar along with the trigger spring kit and carbon steel grip pins and screws. Installation was straight forward after watching the video. This is a nice reliability enhancing part.

Great investment
Don’t forget this little guy when doing your trigger upgrade. A great & much needed improvement to my sub2k
Quality
I haven't installed this part yet but it's guaranteed to be way better than that plastic piece of trash that is OEM. I disassemble the rifle for painting and, just like Chris said, the OEM bushing is chewed up on the corner. I'm sure this will work flawlessly.
Simple
Easy upgrade. I polished it some more before installing. Most likely not needed but hey, why not?
Steel not plastic
As the title says this hammer bushing is all steel. My plastic bushing looked like crap and I had never even fired it yet. A no brainer. Steel is much much better material for this part .
Solid replacement
Perfect fit and WAY better than the original part. This is a necessary modification.
Has anyone determined if this is compatible with the Gen3? The bushing is the same on the Gen 2 and Gen 3 just not sure if this entire assembly is compatible with Gen 3.
What does the bushing add? Springs help with break, trigger bar helps bring the wall shorter. But what does the bushing do, other than better durability?
It provides a more stable part inside since the original part is a two-piece part. We machine ours out of a single piece of steel instead of a plastic sleeve with a pin. It's a tighter tolerance inside and won't bounce around and cause alignment issues and potential malfunctions.
