Armorer's Wrench doesn't work for all Sub 2000
I got this tool as part of the Sub 2000 upgrade for my Gen 2. While the slots at the end of the metal collar nut lined up with the fingers of this tool, the fingers on the tool were too long and did not go in far enough to grab the collar. So this did not work for me. I ended up using a strap wrench and was then able to remove the collar nut.
The Sub 2000 Armorer wrench collar remover didn't work on my Sub 2000 plastic collar.
The tool itself is a nice heavy metal tool, but I was displeased with the wrench as far as being a "needed" tool to upgrade my Sub 2000. The updated plastic collar design is larger than the two tool's collar holes, so neither collar holes will work (see picture). The Sub 2000 Armorer wrench needs to be updated or MCarbo needs to state that - "plastic collars are slightly bigger and will not work with this tool".
The C clip tool did work, but not like you would expect. The tool pointed flare needs to rest on the clip (past the opening, not "on" the opening of the clip) "and then forced outward - see video.
Almost Perfect
Was a necessity to remove the odd size castle nut on my 2’nd gen Sub2k. That end worked flawlessly. Unfortunately I spent way to much time scratching up the gun & not enough time measuring the c-clip removal end. The larger size was actually capturing the clip instead of pushing it out. Really easy with a needle nose though. KelTec probably charged the size after Mcarbo made the tool
Disappointed
The wrench is useless for me. The pronged end for c- clip removal is useless and doesn't work. It's much easier to simply use two pocket screwdrivers or sonething similiar. Also be sure you need this wrench. MY SUB 2K castle nut is plastic and can be hand removed. They wrench doesn't even fit on the nut anywhere, rendering the wrench useless again. This was partly my fault for not checking first. I'm going to try to return it. We'll see how that goes. MCARBO makes some useful stuff. Just make sure it works for you first.
Didnt work for anything for me
I couldnt take my collar off or remove the c rings from the safety seitch with mkne. Turned out to be useless.
Armour wrench
I got this with the upgrade kit. I found no use for it on my gen 2. I wish it was an option. It just makes the kit more expensive.
I love the fact that MCARBO has tried to make a tool that will suit everything that needs to be done on a wep. Unfortunately Keltec changes things in production that this tool only fit the nut on my front sight. I was hoping it would at least take care of the trigger safety cir/clips but two jewelers drivers and some masking tape to catch the little bastards solved that issue. As I said no fault no issue, I got it with the trigger bundle so I didn’t pay an ass loss for it but Keltec keeps changing shit so it’s impossible for an aftermarket company to keep up.
Worked well
I read multiple reviews on the M*Carbo site and the Brotherhood’s forum that declared that this tool was useless. I disagree. I used it when I did my trigger job (pretty easy and incredible change for the better). I watched Chris’s video at least 4 times and watched/paused as I worked. I position the C clip and the tool exactly the way Chris did in the video and it worked perfectly; exactly the way it did in Chris’s video.
