A Brotherhood of unreliable products

Purchased all in one kit for sub 2k and after installation nothing but light primer strikes ! After repeated phone calls with no answer and emails which take forever to get a response they'll say to clean and lube firing pin which made no difference. After putting in stock springs gun worked like it did prior to mcarbo kit .
Horrible customer service and won't trust their products anymore . Too bad as they have some good stuff and great ideas but leaving me with a weapon that's inoperable isn't the kind of " brotherhood " I'd like to be a associated with !!

Couldn't ask for a better product or company. All the parts I ordered were shipped out very quickly and shipping cost was not astronomical like most companies charge when shipping to Alaska. The videos on the site were very helpful when installing all the parts. Finished replacing everything just yesterday and can't wait to go out and shoot.
Video instructions were great

I just finished installation of the All in One trigger upgrade kit for the KelTec Sub2000. I really appreciated the instruction video as it was very clear and easy to follow. I am not a gunsmith and the extent of my skills is limited to assembling an AR15 kit, and building a black powder rifle. I was able to follow along and complete the upgrades in a couple of hours. I thought they forgot to send me the trigger shim but after looking up some info on their website, they said it is no longer needed even though it was shown in the video. All good.

So yeah, trigger feel has improved greatly. I'm taking it to the range next week to see how it shoots. Hopefully everything still cycles nice and clean. Great job MCARBO!

These parts made a Huge difference in how the weapon shoots; mine was a new rifle with about 100 rounds through it. The spongy 8.5 lbs trigger pull was not that fun to shoot.
Ordered this kit watched the latest install video to help with the install and now 4.25 lbs smooth trigger pull is so much better.
Parts work great. A little more info needs to be in the install videos to distinguish Gen 1 & Gen 2 installs.

I bought the MCarbo parts to upgrade my trigger assembly, feeding ramp, etc. I watched the video beforehand several times and then followed it during the install. The video for the install is three years old and does reference the difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 for particular part differences, but I ran into an issue during the trigger assembly install. When it came to installing the trigger assembly, the video references a shim that was supposed to be included in the new parts and installed with the assembly. I had carefully sorted all of my new parts and left them in the bags until they were to get used so I didn't mix them up with the old parts. I could not find the shim so it was not included in the trigger assembly kit. I was at a loss, so I went through my parts bin and found one that looked just like it. It fit over the pin exactly as needed. Of course there was no way to tell how thick the shim should be, but I had no choice. I noticed that my rifle had a small lip of polymer on the side the shim was to be placed on, but I had no reference if this was supposed to take the place of the shim or it was in addition to it. The trigger assembly worked when all of the the parts were in place and I tested it with the ejecting side of the gun still off. I installed the rest and tightened the screws down. When I did so, the trigger would not return forward. I did some trouble shooting and finally figured out that once the screw in the center, right above the trigger, was tightened, it no longer returned forward. Once I removed the shim I installed, the trigger worked fine. The install would have taken about 3 hours, but since I had to open the gun up several times to figure it out and then reassemble it to test it, it took about 5 hours. I included screen shots of the video showing the shim that is referenced in the installation video.

The question is, does the Gen 2 not need the shim, or was I just not provided one that would work? The installation video was 3 yrs old, so it would have been nice to know if it was no longer needed/provided or if I just didn't get it in my kit. I shot the gun and everything works great. It has a nice soft trigger pull with a smooth trigger reset.

So MCarbo, does the shim still need to be installed in Gen 2's, or is it no longer needed or included in the kit?

In addition to the trigger upgrade kit, I installed upgraded screws and pins, and the same on the fore end. I also installed the recoilless charging handle (which dealing with installing the new spring end was a bitch), the bolt tube cover, the rapid deployment latch, the QD single point sling mount and sling, the recoil buffer, and a recoil pad.

All in all, I like the new parts a lot and the gun shoots great. I will be getting the upgraded rear sight as my groups were consistent, but down and right of the bullseye by about 2 inches down and 2 inches over from about 75 yards. I'm assuming this is because you have to push your face down so far to get a cheek weld that it's pushing the shots down as you do so. I'm hoping the upgraded rear sight will help with this. I have a red dot sight which I installed on a 45 degree mount using the M-Lock mounts, but didn't get my bore sight in time to try and sight it in so that still needs to be done.

Thanks.

I purchased this along with several other Mcarbo upgrades,300$ worth, big mistake. Time there super slow on shipping both orders and replacement parts. Yes replacement parts. Before I started, and I recommend everyone does this , I checked my stock trigger pull. After complete installation and over an hour of polishing of internals, per the installation video, I finished with a 6.7-7.7lb trigger pull I started with a stock 7.7-8.7lb of pull. 235$ and 3 hours labor to shave 1 pound of pull. What happened to the 3-4 they advertised.

After weeks of emailing photos and messages and talking on the phone, Mcarbo's answer is "Kel-Tec Sub2000's are a very inexpensively built carbine, the plastic chassis is not the most accurate injection molded frame out there. What you have may be the best it will ever be". They did send me a replacement spring set thinking that there may be a problem with the springs. New set of springs installed and still no better. Their best suggestion was to loosen the screws above the trigger, to finger tight or less and lock tite them in place and retest for pull. Loosing the screws lowered my pull to mid to high 5's and that was not until I loosened all the screws. Mind you I would not try to shoot it this way.

When I replied with the results from the loose screws they, They reminded me that the poor quality of the injection molded chassis.

At this point they offered that I could send the gun back to Kel-tec or directly to them and they will take a look for a fee. I explained I have been doing triggers for 30+ years and I can't see paying someone to do what I have "already done".

I suggested that I remove all of the Mcarbo junk and send it all in for a complete 300$ refund. This is when Ken tells me sure but they can only give me a 27$ refund for the springs because the other parts were installed and can't be returned.

Lesson Learned don't trust Mcarbo or take the reviews online for real some are paid for. Talk to your friends.
good instruction video

I have done many trigger jobs, so to speak, using Apex products and videos, so this type of project was not too intimidating. This was my first outside of that manufacturer and I was impressed. I watched the video prior to receiving the "all internal kit" from MCarbo. I appreciate the presenter in the video. I felt like he was sitting next to me with patience necessary for me as I paused often to get through the process. I have not been able to go the range yet as I just installed the kit today, but anxious to do so in the next couple of weeks. The results of the parts kit compared to OEM... feels like night and day. The OEM felt very "mushy" and "gritty". It was not smooth at all, but it was adequate for the money spent on this PCC. The MCarbo kit makes if feel like it has a defined wall prior to break. The break is quite light for me now, I will have to get used to that. Amazing the difference. I had never polished any internal parts before. I was very pleased with the instructions on how to do that to the pertinent parts. You cannot visually tell I have done anything to this PCC to improve the performance of the unit, I looks like a sleeper if you have never fired a Sub2000 stock. I thought the parts kit was a little pricey, but so were all the Apex kits I have purchased over the years. After installed, the kit feels like it is well worth making a mid $300 gun (after rebate) perform like a $700+ gun, for $250. As stated, I have not shot it yet after parts kit, but anxious to see what the difference is. I was happy with the grouping and how it shot with all the plastic pieces, I hope that it blows me away so to speak when I shoot it now!

The required hex keys are included as well as the Universal tool. The only other thing that would help is a Gunsmith Bench Block and a dremel for polishing.

It is all on the owner's preference. Usually if you are going to be using gloves, the flat will allow for more clearance.
