Ruger LCP II 22LR is a much Better Pistol after the MCARBO Kit
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
I bought the Ruger LCP II 22lr pistol and found that it jams and has light hammer strikes which does not fire or feed all 22lr ammo; no matter which brand I used. I do not recommend using cheap ammo in any gun as problems may occur with the function of the weapon no matter what you do to upgrade with better functioning parts. I installed the new trigger and hammer springs which totally corrected factory defects. As I stated before; use good name brand ammunition and you will find with the MCARBO kit; you will have an awesome functioning pistol. The light hammer strikes and light ejector springs are a problem that everyone I know who has purchased the pistols have immediate out of the box malfunction problems, which are dangerous and very frustrating. Go ahead and purchase this kit from MCARBO (Ruger LCP II Trigger Spring Kit). You will be so glad you did! I Highly Recommend MCARBO Parts; especially this one and the Glock 9mm kit for changing from a 5.5 trigger pull to 3.5. BRAVO MCARBO!! Great Kit!!
Lighter trigger, and lighter primer strikes, too many failures to fire
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
I got the trigger spring kit, recoil spring, and stainless recoil rod. Had a gunsmith install them with a competitor's short-stroke trigger. There is no question that the trigger is both smoother and lighter. Accuracy is much improved.

However, using Aguila 22 super extra, CPRN ammo, which previously functioned flawlessly in this little pistol, I now have AT LEAST 1 failure to fire per 14-round extended mag. You can see by the primer marks on the misfires that it is a light strike. When I reload the misfires for another trip through, they fire just fine. If I can't find ammo that will fire every time with the inconsistent firing pin strikes I'm going to have to reinstall the old springs. I'm not happy.
This is the LCP II in .22LR ONLY
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
If you really want to do this Spring Kit for the LCP II in .22LR, save yourself a ton of trouble and just pay MCarbo to do it for you. It's worth the $95.00 to let them do it!

Having said that and fought for several hours trying to get it all back together, I would recommend the only way I got it back together. Partially assemble the FCU with it partially installed in the grip. The FCU on the .22 is just plastic and has parts that do not exist on the video for the other LCP II caliber. Save the Weird Little Brass Arrow Piece and the Safety Lever TILL VERY LAST. Then Remember to push forward the little piece that allows the FCU to be finally seat.

While I finally got it all together, it was a sincerely noticeable pain in the rear. I normally install these kits myself, but the LCP II in .22LR is just a total nuisance and made the experience VERY unpleasant. Everything just falls off constantly, and once I figured out partial assembly and final parts it was better. Frankly, I'm just glad I'm done.

After installation on my LCP I installed the Mcarbo spring kit, stainless guide rod, & magazine release spring in my LCP 2. Went faster & easier after doing the first one but still followed the video. This LCP 2 had a 5.8 lb. trigger pull originally and a 4.2 lb. pull after installation and lube.

I had a gunsmith install the spring kit in a 22lr LCP II. Using factory fresh Aguila super extra CPRN in the pistol before the trigger job I NEVER had a failure to fire in over 600 rounds. Now I get one every other mag of 10. The strike is visibly light on the misfires. The rounds fire when reloaded in the pistol. Any suggestions?

Will leaving the factory hammer spring in effect the trigger pull?

Yes it will, the hammer spring in the kit will reduce the amount of power you need to engage the hammer and you will not feel as much of a reduction in your overall trigger pull weight.
