Ruger American trigger spring
This is the best $20 upgrade for a Ruger American. This spring takes all of the guesswork out of replacing the spring with the correct one. Trigger pull is one of the most important things to accuracy and this 10 minute upgrade is definitely worth it. Honestly the price is somewhat expensive for what the spring is really worth but the results pay for itself. I have them in my Gen 1 and 2 of my Gen 2’s and couldn’t be happier

Gen 2 Trigger spring
i just installed this spring in my new Ruger Gen 2 rifle. Lowest I could get with factory spring was 3.5#. After spring installation I was consistently getting reading of 2.5#. Definite improvement for this gun!
Every spring upgrade I have installed from Mcarbo has been not only easy to install, but a great improvement from the factory equipment.
3.5 down to 2 lbs.
Followed installation video. Install was super easy, only took a few minutes. Took my 3.5 lbs trigger down to a 2 lb 1 oz trigger. I would assume it'll drop to a 2 lb trigger after a few range trips.

Bought Ruger American Gen 2 in 243 for wife for hunting. We both shoot long range competition past 1000 yards and beyond. All out comp rifles have triggertech diamonds so she's using that as a baseline for her Ruger. Coming from comp rifle, she b1tched, whined and complained about the horrendous trigger on her Ruger and I would agree to a point, but she doesn't understand, ITS A HUNTING rifle. Happy wife, happy life. Did some research on MCarbo spring upgrade so I ordered her one vs $120-130 Timney entire trigger upgrade. Install was extremely easy and after install I had her dry fire the rifle. Nothing but smiles. Crisp, clean and very, very comparable now to her Timney diamond! I can thank my brothers enough for offering such a small thing as a trigger spring upgrade that made a huge impact. Now, IF I can only get her to shoot straight 😁

This little spring is an absolute game changer. I'm a value guy, I will put my ruger Americans with this spring installed up against ANY hunting rifle made. I just put together a Ruger American gen 2 in 6mm creedmoor for my granddaughter, added some weight, installed this trigger spring, splatter painted the stock pink, installed a vortex 4-12x44, all for less than $850, and shot a 3/8 in 3 shot group @ 100 yds off the back of my truck.

If you look in your owners manual, the recommended torque for stock bolts is listed there as between 60-80 INCH Pounds for both Gen 1 and 2. Remember that tighter isn't always better. If the action is secure at 65 in/lbs, then that's good and will keep you from bottoming out or stripping the action...
