Swapped out my worn factory recoil spring to the MCARBO and it’s far better. Just need to get the trigger upgrade spring kit next.
Racks easily but also gets those round chambered!
The stock spring sometimes would balk a bit while chambering a round. This spring eliminates that issue completely!

Recoil Spring for Phoenix Arms HP22a
Dealing with M-CARBO was very good and they shipped the recoil spring promptly. Unfortunately the spring did not operate in my Phoenix Arms HP22a. Almost every round jammed and failed to eject. They sent another spring and I had the same result. I then reinstalled my original spring and the handgun worked fine. They tried to help but I have given up.

Does this spring allow you to safely shoot high and hyper velocity ammo and not just the standard velocity??
I and many other use CCI Mini-Mags. In stock form it ate them up and no issues after many many rounds. With this spring plus the trigger kit, this gun is smooth as silk. With wither the 3" or 5" barrel combined with the 22ish Oz weight, the difference between standard velocity and mini-mags is hardly noticeable.

According to Phoenix arms, they only recommend standard velocity ammo in this firearm. Even with our spring, I would not advise using high velocity.
