It's not supposed to work for the Shield X - but it does!
    review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
I figured, worst case, the firing pin spring would probably help the trigger pull a bit, and it did. So I tried the other springs and the polishing as shown the the MCarbo YouTube video. It all worked perfectly, except that I couldn't get the rear sight to budge. Nearly broke my vice and two sight pushers trying. So I didn't replace that tiny spring underneath, but it didn't matter. The remainder of the kit and the polishing brought a 6lb trigger down to just below 3.5lbs. Absolutely what I was hoping for! Thanks MCarbo!
Light hits on MaxxTech 9mm ammo

Love my Gen I Shield 9mm. Love it more now that I installed this MCarbo trigger spring kit along with some minor polishing of friction points. The tutorial was great and I consider the install a significant improvement. However, I did get two light hits, out of a box of 50 Maxx Tech by GH Ammunition. I bought a thousand rounds of this practice ammunition. I am a bit disappointed in this occurrence and am not sure if the cause is the ammo or a lighter strike caused by the striker spring replacement.

I have more work to do.

Still, I gave MCarbo a four as I did receive a noticeably lighter trigger pull and pleasure in shooting my choice in a carry gun.

This kit is awesome. Watched the video, ordered the spring kit and polishing kit. After finishing, my trigger pull was a little over 2lbs. If yours isn’t in the 2lbs range, Polish it more.

I'm a little disappointed in the results i got from the spring kit. I did the polishing and installed the spring kit. The trigger pull is much smoother, but the pull weight went from 61/2 pounds to 5 pounds, which is an improvement, but was hoping to have a pull weight around 4 pounds. Was it worth the price of the kit? Probably so.
Super Tutorial on the trigger kit for the S&W Shield M&P 9mm
    review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
    Hello All,

I just received the kit and started right away to install in my firearm. Before ordering, I viewed the whole tutorial and believe it to be excellent in detail. For me, there was less to do as I have the Performance Center M&P Shield 2.0 Plus with Comp. I did have the edges or burrs on the striker safety or striker that apparently is more prominent in other similar models.

All that being said, when I was finally through in about a full hour, I still noticed a difference. In my dry-fire my groupings were tighter, The gritty feeling pulling past the wall was now gone.

I would suggest using the block they offer and perhaps some other accessories that would make your install easier and faster. I have one that is flat which makes it a bit more challenging.
I had to cut the supplied spring rod supplied as it would not allow the block to be seated. The spring may have a way of coming off when pushing in the pin so I would also recommend a pair of small very long nose pliers so you don't have to redo the block install again.
Also, that tiny bit of 1000 grit sandpaper is really way too small especially for someone with big mits. Here I would also suggest a nail file to speed the process and perhaps do a better job.

All in all I am very happy I did it.

Installed the spring kit today and did the polishing. Watched the video a couple times prior over the past few weeks and did most from memory but did refer back a couple times. The video is excellent. The video shows a 2.0 Shield. Mine is a 1.0. I really didn’t see any difference between the two pistols other than mine had a thumb safety. The thumb safety proved not to be an issue and was easy to work around it leaving it in place. Night and day difference. Average trigger pull before was 5lbs 10oz’s. Average after the trigger job was 2lbs 9oz’s and it’s buttery smooth. More than pleased which is why I jumped on here to do a review. It’s well deserved. Fairly easy install. My right hand is about 50% crippled due to nerve damage and had no issues. The sights were a pain to remove (I removed front and back sight and replaced with XS sights along with this spring kit). Next hardest thing for me was getting the trigger pin back thru the frame and trigger. I kept fiddling with it then all the sudden it shot thru the holes and was in. Here are before & after pics.

I installed this kit in my .40 S&W Shield Performance Center today. Took it from 4 pounds 11ounces to 3 pounds 1 ounce. Huge improvement. I also did the polishing. I did the slide/striker components first per the video. It went to 3 pounds 4 ounces with that before I did the frame components. After doing the trigger return spring and sear spring it was consistently 3.1. Great installation video too!

Smith and Wesson changed the internal designs of the shield plus so the springs are different. We cannot say they will work due to these changes.

yes, just installed the kit in a new M&P9 Shield Plus Carry Comp 4" bbl with great results dry firing along with improved take up feel and wall and break (4lb12oz to 3lb2oz or 34% reduction). just need to shoot it to confirm live fire functionality. the only part that wasn't compatible was the sear spring as it was too short. seems like S&W changed the design in this pistol to a longer spring with no separate detent. i also did the full polish job per the video instructions so my improvements were two-fold.

      2.0 trigger spring kit

This kit is awesome. Watched the video, ordered the spring kit and polishing kit. After finishing, my trigger pull was a little over 2lbs. If yours isn’t in the 2lbs range, Polish it more.
      S&W 9mm shield 1.0 spring kit
      review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star

      S&W Shield (1.0) Spring Kit

Good Morning, The sear spring in the kit does not match the sear spring in the firearm. The shield plus has an oval spring where as the standard shield has a spring and pin setup.
