Savage AXIS Pro Trigger Kit

Enhance your Savage AXIS rifle with the best aftermarket trigger upgrade! Our comprehensive Pro Trigger Kit includes a Savage AXIS Trigger Spring Kit along with all required stainless steel hardware. It also comes with synthetic grease infused with PTFE for smooth operation.

Achieve a significant reduction in trigger pull, lowering it from an average of ~6lbs to your choice of ~1.5lbs, ~2.5lbs or ~3.5lbs. Up to a 40% reduction in trigger pull!

The kit offers three options for trigger return springs, allowing you to tailor the level of trigger pull reduction and drop test ratings:

  • 1.5lb or 2.5lb Trigger Return Spring: Ideal for benchrest shooting, these springs provide the maximum trigger pull reduction. Note that they have limited drop test rating (3", 6", and 9" only).
  • 3.5lb Trigger Return Spring: Suited for hunting, this spring offers a substantial yet safe reduction in trigger pull and has an unlimited drop test rating (3", 6", 12"+).

The Pro Trigger Kit is compatible with aftermarket Boyd's Stocks or any other aftermarket stocks for your Savage AXIS rifle. It also works with the factory stock, offering additional clearance in the trigger assembly due to a specialized overtravel screw. (Compatible with Savage AXIS models equipped with an AccuTrigger. Not compatible with the Savage EDGE model.)

Additional features include custom 300-series stainless steel shims that eliminate side-to-side play in the trigger housing. The included synthetic grease with PTFE not only aids in shim installation but also ensures a smoother trigger pull.

Just installed this into my Savage last night. Man, I thought the trigger was nice from the factory. I decided to go with the 2.5lb spring. It it so light and so crisp on the pull. Better make sure you practice good trigger discipline, because this baby barely takes any pressure to go off. The definition of a hair trigger. I can only imagine what it'll be like if I try the 1.5lb spring. Also, the spacers provided to take the side to side slop out of the trigger work perfectly. If you're thinking about buying one of these, or you own a Savage Axis, stop thinking and buy it now!

Im so insanely impressed. Idk where theyre getting "40% lighter" from. The 1.5 feels about 80% lighter. With no overtravel. No side to side play. If your rifle can accept this. Buy it. Buy it yesterday. Possibly the best 20 bucks ive ever spent

Kit far exceeded my expectations. Love the 6.5 CM Savage AXIS, but the trigger was a bit over the top on pull. Took chance on trigger kit, it took maybe 5 minutes to install. So far very pleased. After shooting the gun a bit more on the 2.5lb spring I may switch to 1.5.
Don't hunt with it, just target shoot for fun, not even competition.
Great product

Great product. Arrived super fast, great quality, and to get three springs and the shims for only 30 dollars when every other trigger upgrade is at least $100 is an amazing deal. Highly recommend this set for your Savage Axis!

Question:
Will this kit work with the Savage Axis XP Next Generation 400 Legend. I keep getting mixed opinions.
JamesH84ZA3AE June 13, 2025 10:07 PM
Answers
The M*CARBO Savage AXIS Pro Trigger Kit is designed to enhance the performance of Savage AXIS rifles by reducing trigger pull weight and improving overall trigger feel. However, its compatibility with your specific rifle model—the Savage AXIS XP Next Generation chambered in .400 Legend—depends on certain factors. Key Compatibility Considerations Trigger Type: The kit is not compatible with Savage AXIS rifles equipped with the AccuTrigger system. It is intended for models with the standard (non-AccuTrigger) trigger assembly. Threaded Trigger Return Spring Hole: Some Savage AXIS triggers, particularly newer models, may lack a threaded hole for the trigger return spring. The M*CARBO kit requires this hole to be threaded to install the overtravel screw. If your trigger lacks this threading, you would need to tap the hole yourself, which involves additional tools and care.

Question:
I got a Savage Axis (Not II or Accutrigger ) in 400 Legend. I went to install this Trigger kit and was going fine till I went to add the Overtravel Screw and ran into a issue. The hole to Install is not threaded! Not sure if factory changed or this is some escape but spring just sits in hole under tension. Can you provide the specs on the overtravel screw? Does not match anything in my SAE and Metric Tap & Dies set(limited). It would give me idea on proper tap or approx size to get another set screw.

I have both an Axis and an Axis II. The Axis II has a silver part on the trigger and is adjustable once you take the stock off and look. The Axis only has the single peice trigger and is noticably different. I added this kit to my Axis and it has the same adjustments and performance as my Axis II with the accutrigger. It doesn't add the peice to the trigger itself, it changes the mechanics of the trigger inside.

Question:
I recently watched a video with this kit installed on an AccuTrigger and was wondering why you guys say that it will only work with the Standard Triggers? Is that true or not?
Will1973608 July 30, 2023 8:05 PM
Answers
The trigger return springs in our kit can be lighter than some of the AccuTrigger's trigger safety springs out there, so if you install our springs and your rifle has an AccuTrigger, there is a chance that when you go to pull the trigger, the trigger will fire before the safety blade is pulled all the way down and the trigger will lock up because the safety blade wasn't depressed all the way down. Our 3.5 lb spring is the only spring that will work with the Accutriggers but for safety reasons we state that you shouldn't install our spring kit if your rifle has an AccuTrigger.

Will this kit work with the Savage Axis XP Next Generation 400 Legend. I keep getting mixed opinions.

The trigger return springs in our kit can be lighter than some of the AccuTrigger's trigger safety springs out there, so if you install our springs and your rifle has an AccuTrigger, there is a chance that when you go to pull the trigger, the trigger will fire before the safety blade is pulled all the way down and the trigger will lock up because the safety blade wasn't depressed all the way down. Our 3.5 lb spring is the only spring that will work with the Accutriggers but for safety reasons we state that you shouldn't install our spring kit if your rifle has an AccuTrigger.
