Savage AXIS Pro Trigger Kit
Enhance your Savage AXIS rifle with the best aftermarket trigger upgrade! Our comprehensive Pro Trigger Kit includes a Savage AXIS Trigger Spring Kit along with all required stainless steel hardware. It also comes with synthetic grease infused with PTFE for smooth operation.
Achieve a significant reduction in trigger pull, lowering it from an average of ~6lbs to a range of ~2.5 to ~3.5lbs. Up to a 40% reduction in trigger pull!
The kit offers two options for trigger return springs, allowing you to tailor the level of trigger pull reduction and drop test ratings:
- 2.5 lb Trigger Return Spring: Ideal for benchrest shooting, this spring provides the maximum trigger pull reduction. Note that it has a limited drop test rating (3", 6", and 9" only).
- 3.5 lb Trigger Return Spring: Suited for hunting, this spring offers a substantial yet safe reduction in trigger pull and has an unlimited drop test rating (3", 6", 12"+).
The Pro Trigger Kit is compatible with aftermarket Boyd's Stocks or any other aftermarket stocks for your Savage AXIS rifle. It also works with the factory stock, offering additional clearance in the trigger assembly due to a specialized overtravel screw. (Please note that this kit is not compatible with Savage AXIS models equipped with an AccuTrigger.)
Additional features include custom 300-series stainless steel shims that eliminate side-to-side play in the trigger housing. The included synthetic grease with PTFE not only aids in shim installation but also ensures a smoother trigger pull.
Note: This kit will not function with the Savage EDGE model.

Savage trigger kit
DUDE!!! If you own or purchase a Savage rifle this kit is a must, most weapons come from the factory with a trigger pull upwards of 5.50 lb/oz. The installation is a snap, if you are not sure how to install is check out the video. These guys produce some of the best "How To" videos out there. My rifle had a trigger pull of 5.96 lb/oz, after the kit installation it measured like 2.99 lb/oz. It was like a different gun. The quality of the kit parts is second to non. My next upgrade is the drop-in trigger.

Don’t shoot a Savage Axis without this upgrade
This upgrade is an absolute must have if you have one of these rifles. Complete game changer.
Savage trigger kit
If you own a savage rifle, you need this kit.
I used the 3.5 lb spring, the trigger is soft, and smooth as glass. What a huge difference. The guys at mcarbo did their homework!!
Huge Reduction to Trigger Weight
Prior to installing this M*Carbo trigger kit, I measure the stock trigger and it averaged 6 lbs. 0.2 oz. from 7 pulls. I selected the 2.5 lb. trigger return spring because I prefer 2 lb. trigger pulls. Once installed, the trigger pull measured an average of 0 lbs. 13.9 ounces from 7 pulls. The trigger was insane and it definitely qualified as a hair trigger. That wasn’t what I was going for, so I went to the 3.5 lb. trigger. Once installed, it measured an average of 1lb. 11.1oz from 7 pulls.
Savage axis trigger kit saved my gun!
Bought an axis as a cheap rifle for an upcoming hunting trip where I knew it'd get beat and didn't want to take something really expensive. The trigger pull was heavier than the gun and it was impossible to shoot accurately. Literally thought the safety was on the first time I shot it. I almost sold the gun but this cheap kit made it feel like a match trigger. Can't recommend enough!
Great quality
The kit was easy to install other than when I went to install shims it was extremely tight. Not a big deal I understand not all guns are exactly same and could have just buffed down one side and been easier. But the 3.5 spring put trigger pull right where I wanted it for hunting.
Not Easily Impressed
As the title says, however in this case I am impressed. Took me about 5 - 10 minutes to the install and boy what a heck of a difference.
I originally installed the 2.5lb spring and thought way too light for me so swapped it out for the 3.5lb spring and I was happier with that.
A wee tip for anyone buying this kit in the future, to remove the e-clip, use a small flat head screwdriver with a magnetic tip and the e-clip will stick to it and won't fly off never to be seen again.
5/5 bullets for this product
Amazing trigger job. Cheap and easy
Excellent instructions. This kit took my 7lb factory trigger to a crisp 3lb. And I did it myself!
I recently watched a video with this kit installed on an AccuTrigger and was wondering why you guys say that it will only work with the Standard Triggers? Is that true or not?
Will this kit work in a model 111 pre-accutrigger? (circa 2001-2002)?

When yall install the stock back on the action. What do you torque the actions screws to or will it have an affect on accuracy?
The video I watch to install for the Axis shows a travel screw with a head on it the kit shows something different. It also has shims and grease that is not mentioned in the video.

The installation video was made on Jan 26, 2018, about five years ago. We have made different upgrades to the kits, but the installation is the same.
In the video here, you can see at about 0:40 in the footage that the kit has grease and shims.
I just bought the savage axis compact .243 win. For my wife. I would like to know if this trigger kit would be compatible?
It fits Savage AXIS Rifles with Standard Triggers only. Will not work for Savage AXIS Rifles with AccuTrigger
If your rifle have an Accutrigger, it won't work
Hi do you ship to Ireland?

If you don't see one for your Country, please encourage your local Gun Shops to contact us and place a Wholesale order.
Notes it says will not work on Edge, I have one and would like to use. What is difference between initial savage edge and axis? Thought it related to name change for copyright reasons
I believe there are some minor differences in tolerances. But we have not been able to get our hands on an Edge to test it out.
what is the spring material
hencar November 11, 2022 10:57 AM
Our springs are made of the highest quality spring steel ASTM A228 Music Wire & 302 Stainless Steel Spring Wire.
Hmmm, why won't this kit work on an accutrigger ? The fitting looks the same and even though there is something wrong with my accutrigger spring ( won't be set any lower than the factory 3 lbs setting ), SA won't provide a spare part to my place, so I'm ready to give it a go in case there's any chance it might work ( better than cutting off a coil, ain't it ? ) ...
Apparently this kit will work with the Accutrigger. I just watched a video where it was installed on a Savage axis II. The kit performed perfectly with a pull weight around 12.5 oz.
The kit was specifically designed to replace the Standard Trigger springs. We made the Flat Trigger to replace the AccuTrigger.
Do you ship to Canada
no, however you can buy our parts from one of our Canadian vendors, such as Bullseye North
will this work on a savage mark 2? Do you sell a trigger kit for the mark 2?
We do not have a spring kit that is compatible with the Savage Mark 2, please send us an email to help@mcarbo.com so we can save your contact info on our new product idea/request log!
Will this work for Savage Model 111?
Based on what I just discovered when trying to install this kit into my 111, NO, this will not work in a Model 111 if it a s 3 bolt rifle. The 111 three bolt has a lever style adjustable trigger.

Hello, as long as it does not have an Accu trigger, it should function in your XP.

Would this fit in the Savage Axis XP? And if so is there any modifications that would be needed?

Savage axis and axis xp are the same. It will work. The axis ii and axis ii xp will not work, they have accutriggers.

Hey Brother,
So long as you do not have an accutrigger, It will work!
I have the savage axis xp and it looks a bit different than your install video. The thumbs safety is on top of the assembly when removed and trigger doesn't seem to have the slop requiring the washers. Do you have an install video for this type of rifle?
I have a savage axis xp newer version it works find. The shims may not be require depending on the tolerance it had from the factory. Its a good thing you don't need the shims. I could have purchase the kit without them and still been happy.
Hello Ryan, unfortunately, we do not have an installation video for the Savage Axis XP. If you do not feel the washers are a necessary component for your XP, you may leave those out of the firearm.
Will this work with the Accu trigger? Thanks
Great question, unfortunately this trigger spring kit does not work in rifles equipped with the Savage AccuTrigger.
