Description

Ruger LCP Flat Trigger

Upgrade your Ruger LCP pistol with this Custom 6061 Aluminum Ruger LCP Flat Trigger to replace the plastic factory trigger. This flat trigger upgrade provides a clean and crisp lighter trigger pull, allowing you to place your finger lower on the trigger to improve leverage and reduce the trigger pull weight by 1/2lb. Precision CNC machined from billet aluminum and tumbled smooth, this Ruger LCP Flat Trigger is hard-plated with black anodizing for a durable finish.

The flat trigger design allows you to pull the trigger straight back consistently and makes it easier to tell if you're pulling too far left or right. Additionally, you can fine-tune the pre-travel and post-travel with set screw adjustments on the Ruger LCP Aluminum Flat Trigger. This fully adjustable flat trigger allows for short, repeatable, and consistent trigger pulls, making it one of the best Ruger LCP accessories for lifetime reliability and functional performance.

This custom Ruger LCP flat trigger is designed to fit and function in Ruger LCP pistols only, NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LCP2. Please note that it does not work with early "Dash" serial number guns (XXX-XXXX). Combat veterans have designed the full lineup of custom Ruger LCP accessories to improve the Ruger LCP trigger pull and correct Ruger LCP problems with the plastic factory trigger.

Double-action-only pistols like the LCP require a slight adjustment to a typical flat trigger profile to maintain consistent trigger finger placement. The Ruger LCP Aluminum Flat Trigger is the best Ruger LCP aftermarket part to improve reliability and performance, offering immediate accuracy improvements. Upgrade to the Custom Aluminum Flat Trigger to replace your plastic Ruger LCP trigger and get improved accuracy and overall pistol performance.

Hi... I've already written a review sharing all that I experienced while installing all the springs; trigger; rods; etc. This can help others (I feel) when they upgrade this tiny firearm. One correction: The FLAT TRIGGER is aluminum and not plastic as I originally commented on... OK... I got to the range today and this little puppy fired & cycled flawlessly. 100 rounds (various ammo) and not one FTF or FTE. I trust the pistol now as a small EDC and I want to thank all the folks at M*CARBO for always answering the phone and being super helpful. Please find my other review for DIY help and good luck to all. Once you have everything you need laid out; expect about 3 to 4 hours to complete all mods which would include polishing the barrel feed ramp with FLITZ and a dremel or drill motor and greasing / oiling everything as you go. Also, I installed a Hogue LCP Grip Sleeve as well which "thickens" the overall thickness of the grip and this is also a very nice mod. Thanks all... Gene / Atlanta, GA

All LCP (1) Upgrades - Install Process
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
Greetings... I have not fired the upgraded LCP yet but I thought this review could help others:

* FIRING PIN SPRING: Fairly straight forward but the DIY video does not use a current Ruger LCP slide so the actual location on the roll pin is different. Don't do what I did (which was remove the extractor by mistake)

* MAG RELEASE SPRING: This seems to be a solid upgrade. The video says the "Special Install Tool Is a Must". After several attempts and 2 hours looking for the spring which shot across the room; I agree and I think this tool should be included with the kit. Take a small flat tip screw driver and a triangle jewelers file and cut a "V" in the blade. This worked very well (like a small "pickle fork")

* FLAT TRIGGER: Install was easy enough but I'm pretty sure the tiny set screws don't do anything as the travel is set by the trigger pivot. I think I would have preferred an aluminum trigger option (even at a higher cost) as this mod removes a plastic trigger and installs a plastic trigger. Older videos do show aluminum trigger upgrade options in red & black. Why was this discontinued?

* MCARBO DIY VIDEO: This needs to be updated in my opinion. Too much time "selling the product". If I am watching the video; I've already purchased the parts. There should be separate marketing videos and a current Install Video. I also noticed that the video shows all parts installed on a dry firearm. This is an opportunity to oil / grease many areas that are hard to get to so oil / grease everything as you go. I also used "Flitz" and a dremel and polished the feed ramp on the barrel to a mirror finish. I also had a hard time getting the slide to re-engage after all the mods. For some reason, I had to put the butt cap back on and a magazine in before the slide would install (???)

* SUMMARY: It took me about 5 solid hours to install all mods & springs. Some of this time was spent chasing flying springs so be prepared. I love the Energy & Support from M*CARBO and I will continue to be a loyal customer. This upgrade made me realize just how cheaply made the Ruger LCP plastic gun really is. However, it is a super inexpensive firearm and it needed all the help it could get. After I get to the range, I may write another review. Many Thanks... Gene / Atlanta, GA.
Very good upgrade !

Love this trigger upgrade kit. Let's you set your forward and backwards trigger travel. Much better than stock trigger ! Trigger kit and spring kit together are a great upgrade. Was leery about losing the safety factor of the stock trigger hard pull. After installing both kits , I feel that there is still a safety factor with the upgrade. Much better feeling trigger and trigger pull !!

I purchased this upgrade plus the trigger spring kit some time ago and finally got around to installing it. The results were unbelievably good. The video online walked me through it and I didn't manage to screw anything up. There are a few stages that are tricky, however, and I managed to launch the firing pin across my basement but found it in a few minutes. Pay attention to the details in the video!

What was the WORST trigger in my safe is now up there with my Sig p365. It's a great update for a gun I usually don't carry unless I have to make a run out to the grocery store early in the morning. Well done, MCarbo!!
Much better

I am glad I installed this trigger on my LCP. The feel is far better than the stock trigger. The ability to remove unnecessary slack in wonderful. I installed with the trigger spring kit. I can't say anything bad about it. The pistol doesn't feel at all the same as it did in stock form. I don't mind shooting it now.
Sloppy side to side

Hi M-Carbo Family. Thank you for the excellent products. I was curious if you have heard of anyone successfully installing this in a kel-tec p32? I know early on there seemed to be pretty common that lcp/3At/p32 triggers were either drop in or modifiable to function without issue, but things may have changed. I will take any answer with a grain of salt, but just thought I'd ask. Regards, - Mike

I installed one on mine. Functions fine and is a definite improvement. The only real downside is the trigger is angled a bit more forward than it is in the lcp. This trigger combined with a lighter hammer spring made my p32 awesome

Why won't this trigger work on a no dash serial number LCP? Can it be modified to do so? Thanks for your help!
March 8, 2022 3:25 PM
Answers
This trigger does not work with Early "Dash" Serial Number Guns. Minor changes had been made by Ruger when they updated their serial naming on these pistols, and it is enough difference where our trigger does not fit and function properly in the older versions. We do not recommend making any modifications to the part itself or to the firearm as this would not only create a risk of failure, but also void all warranties with both MCARBO and RUGER. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

because of the plastic frame, you may have a small amount of side-to-side movement, but it should not be enough to hinder the function of the trigger! If you feel it is too much, please reach out to us at help@mcarbo.com and we will assist with troubleshooting!
