I thought I was gonna break my gun getting this out after I put it in so after looking at it, I put it in a drill took a small foul took some of the edge off of it now it works perfect but if you ain’t got that kind of knowledge, I wouldn’t purchase this at all. Once you put it in and try to take it back out. it ain’t even close to what their video shows. How hurt it to get out.
I ordered and received a takedown pin for my LCP ii, and one for my LCP Max. The pin installs great and doesn’t back out, but when you try to remove it for gun cleaning, it was almost impossible to remove. The plastic on the side of the gun was bending out before it finally popped out. I inspected gun and didn’t see any cracks in the frame, but I believe that I’m lucky that the removal process didn’t crack the plastic frame. I experienced this on both the LCPii and the LCP Max. I re-installed the factory pins in both guns and just watch them so they don’t back out.
Just purchase the take down pin for my LCP Max, You can see the difference between the factory and the M*Carbo Pin the M*Carbo looks and feel stronger than the original part it, make me feel more secured that the pin will stay intact. Very good quality and material. I'm very confident with the M*Carbo product ..
For my every day carry It needs to be ready to perform every time. Very well made pin for a reasonable price to insure reliability.
Pin.works great.
A review posted by someone else on 7/18/23 said that while removing the Mcarbo takedown pin, the black plastic frame of their gun (surrounding the pin) flexed outward. As the owner of a new LCP Max, I can confirm that the flexing happens during removal. The Mcarbo takedown pin is "latched" onto the silver wire inside of the frame and during removal, the silver wire pushes against the black plastic frame. To counteract the flexing during pin removal, just use two fingers to aggressively push down against the black plastic frame area surrounding the pin. The Mcarbo pin is very well designed and machined. I wish the rest of my LCP Max was that well machined !
They're on backorder, OK. But then they'll send you an email stating item shipped when it hasn't shipped. They keep your money. Then inconvenience you by making you track down what's going on. Supposedly it will be off back order in a month, so again YOU better keep track, because they still have your money. They send an email stating item shipped when it's actually still on backorder because....reasons?
