Put in the aftermarket pin and my slide jammed to the rear!! Started to pry the barrel pin out and it slammed into battery! Slide is rubbing the pin! Texted, emailed, emailed again support and crickets!! No one there! Just out some money on a crack pot idea! Yulsammitysam!
I installed this at the same time as all other available springs and trigger because there's really no reason not to. Now, I have the factory pin as a back-up just case I lose this one, and this pin just adds that little bit of extra reliability for such a small price in money and effort.
The problem with this Mcarbo takedown pin is it's to tight. When trying to remove the Pin it is so tight it actually flexes the Polymer part of the frame of my LCP Max and that's not good. And i scratched my slide trying to get it out. I will stick with factory pin never had a problem with it walking out or breaking. 16 dollars wasted for Mcarbo pin lesson learned.
When you compared the Mcarbo take down pin to the old one side by side you could really see the beafyness of the Mcarbo one. I also installed at the same time the Stainless guide rod and together both parts functioned perfect for 150 rounds with zero issues. Slide was definitely smoother when you cocked the slide.
Good fit. Head is heavier than the factory pin. Very robust.
Received a shipping and notice going on 5 days ago tracking shows I have not received the item tried to contact customer support with no results cannot reach my phone will not respond to email or text they used to be my choice for parts however like so many others they have become very independent and down the tubes
I currently have all the upgrades available from M*Carbo in my Ruger. I carry the Ruger most of the summer as my EDC in shorts weather. The pistol has a 3 pound trigger and is equivalent to larger pistol’s accuracy wise. The upgrades made my favorite Ruger the choice for constant use.
We own 2 LCP Max pistols (wife and me). I installed every M*CARBO upgrade available. Take down pin was last item. Ordered 2 pins and USPS "lost" the package. Yes, really. Tracking said it was delivered to my mailbox with a date and time. It wasn't. Checked neighbors and not there. Went to PO and talked with supervisor who actually pulled up digital image of package. Said they'd get back to me via cell phone. 4 days later they did. Package "lost" very sorry"...indeed. I could file online claim. Screw them. I called M*CARBO customer assistance. Said no problem "we will send you another 2 pins no charge". Got them in 3 days via USPS. Love you guys. New pins are great. Heck, everything from them has been great! Have bought A LOT of their stuff. Maxed out new Keltec M*CARBO SUB2K and "loaded up" PMR30 I sent in for full workover and then bought optic mount the first day they were available. Also upgraded my Hellcat OSP with everything available. Great company. Great service. Great products. Customer for life.
Nice polished stainless rod makes sense to change out the factory carbon steel piece. I installed this and your take down pin before even going to the firing range! They make sense, I plan to keep this pistol a long time.
Maybe it’s an unnecessary upgrade, but I installed these in my LCP II as well as my LCP Max. Neither presents any issues.
This part jammed my slide when I went to rack a round in the chamber. The shoulder of the pin was rubbing on the bottom of my slide and wouldn’t allow free movement! Tried emails and texts to Mcarbo but 🦗🦗🦗!! I put the original back in and was done with these people! Remember, Ruger is who designed it so I’d trust them for my firearm parts before this aftermarket parts store!! Hdfergie
This pin might be "technically" superior to the factory takedown pin, but it is extremely difficult to get out without scratching the slide or frame. I had high hopes for this product, but will never use this in the LCP Max again. I'll buy a couple of extra OEM pins as spares.
Well worth the money for a better part and the piece of mind that comes with knowing you don't have to worry about the factory part failing
I really like the spring and trigger, but this part is a flop. The sharp edge on top of the cylinder will catch onto the polymer frame. No matter if I pressed hard onto the frame, this pin simply don't come out. End up having to pry a bit and scuff the slide slightly. Please look into it, this is not an isolated issue.
East install. Seem more durable than original.
