I have now installed the first generation trigger upgrade as well as the latest MOD-2. The MOD-2 takes it to the next level with more adjustability. Instructions were simple and straightforward. Trigger feel is night and day from factory trigger. Very solid and secure. Safety is more protected and eliminates possible hang up from safety on factory trigger. Adjustment on pre-travel is spot on!
I would strongly advise to steer clear of this trigger shoe. M*Carbo is selling this trigger with the understanding that with improper set screw position, the gun will fire when the slide is dropped to chamber a round. Nowhere on their site does it explain the potentially fatal flaw in their design; they only mention that the trigger "will not function properly." Not only to they not bring the full attention to the failure, they do not offer mechanical guidance or recommendation for how tight or lose the set screw should be set at. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. M*Carbo needs to either fix the problem altogether, or they need to tell customers the truth of what can happen is the set screw isn't absolutely perfect. even with loctite, with constant cycling of the slide due to weekly training, the set screw WILL loosen and potentially cause an accidental discharge. Essentially, when the slide is locked back it pulls the trigger into an engaged position, exposing the firing pin. when you send the slide forward, the trigger is supposed to rest and disengage or reset the firing pin. this does not happen with this hellcat trigger if the set screw is even slightly too tight. How tight is too tight? no one knows, as M*carbo does not offer any information regarding how to set the position. i've sent M*carbo an email with the video illustrating the failure, as well as a voice message. i've yet to hear from a representative.
This trigger really makes the Hellcat an exceptional firearm. Coupled with the spring and striker sleeve kit, the trigger's adjustability of take up, its crisp break and very short reset mean accuracy and speed of fire are greatly enhanced. This part is worth every cent. Plus it feels so much better than the original.

Picked up this trigger and the spring kit w/stainless steel fire pin sleeve. Again, the most awesome videos for installing.. I can watch those all day! My pull went from high 6/7 down to mid 4lbs. The first review here scared me a bit, but I haven’t seen anything on that online. So keep it pointed down range I guess. Personally, I love it! Thant guys. Keep up the great work. How can I get a job with you guys!? Lol
This trigger has an amazing feel to it, it's lightweight and durable with a crisp flat break without any of that sponge feel whatever.! It's the perfect quality item for a person looking for the best bang for their buck!
This is the trigger i've been looking for!! I've had my Hellcat for a little over a year now and never loved the stock trigger. Over the last few months I have tried multiple triggers and was never satisfied until I found this one. I tried the Apex Tactical trigger and the Hyve Monarch Trigger before finding the MCarbo trigger. I honestly don't have any cons for the MCarbo Hellcat trigger. I LOVE the true flat face on it. No curve at all. I like the adjustable takeup option but actually chose not to even install the adjustable takeup screw. This decision was because I also installed the MCarbo Hellcat spring kit. The spring kit is incredible! However with the lighter trigger pull I like having the factory length takeup on the trigger for EDC and I feel the wall more clearly. Just a personal thing. With the spring kit installed this trigger is SO SMOOTH, hits a clean wall, has a clear but light break, and a great re-set. It also looks fantastic. This is hands down the best trigger for the Hellcat. Don't waste your time getting anything else. The MCarbo brand might not be as popular or as big as some others right now but they will be. Customer service has been great along with shipping speed and product quality.
Before this was an option, I tried both the Apex and Monarch, definitely prefer the MCARBO mod-2 over both of the others! Install was a breeze, the price is excellent, and they included a 3d printed fixture to drive the pins in and a small Allen wrench for the pretravel adjustment. So far every product I've ordered from MCARBO has exceeded my expectations, and this is no exception. Made my hellcat my new favorite carry piece. Thanks guys!
I received my Springfield HELLCAT Flat Trigger MOD-2 Upgrade on 11/17/23 installed per instructions and video. Installation went well but when I attempted to dry fire the gun the trigger would not fire the gun. Called Mcarbo spoke with Mark he asked for video/pictures, I sent pictures after looking at my pictures Mark said that it would take two to three days to respond. 11/22/23 no response so I called Mcarbo again spoke with a gentleman who said he did the installs and could not explain what was happening I told him I wanted to return the product and move onto other trigger assemblies he said he would send me an email with RMA, no email, surprise-right. I disassembled the gun again and took a close look at the trigger assembly and noticed that the radius of the safety blade and the trigger shoe were not matched which caused the trigger assembly to mechanically obstruct a complete trigger stroke. I should not have to tell the manufacturer why their product is non-functional and as you might expect I cannot recommend your company or it's products to anyone who may considering Mcarbo. Further, it's safe to conclude Mcarbo has lost my business
I found that this trigger, like all aftermarket trigger I have tried to date, does not fix the issue that the stock trigger has where a failure to fire can be induced by improper finger placement which fails to deactivate the trigger safety blade. While the argument can be made that this is a training issue that can be overcome by extensive training, I believe a better solution would be to design a trigger that does not display this potential failure. People with small fingers or novice shooters may induce a failure with this poor factory design if they press the trigger at the top instead of at the bottom, which is a rather easy mistake with flat triggers. Unfortunately the aftermarket ha not yet addressed this issue, and this trigger is no different. I also found that the adjustment screw is likely to rotate while firing the gun as no method to secure it in the treads (such as a spring or thread locker) was included in the design, so setting the trigger overtravel is likely an effort in futility as the setting will change as the screw vibrates and moves. Finally, there are no instructions available anywhere for installation, much less the normally terrific videos. Full stop. Until installations instructions are available for the end user, this item should not be purchased. Installing a trigger is simple in these, but with the added adjustment and fitting block that is included with this kit, instructions are a must.
This trigger feels down right awesome, with the pre-travel adjustment set up, my trigger pull feels crisp. This allows me for faster follow up shots. I know there are many after market trigger options out there, but this one is on par, and I dare to say, it even exceeds some of the popular choices out there. Overall, I love my new hellcat trigger!
Love this trigger, took maybe 10-15 to put in and is a vast improvement over stock.
A++ for videos! Easy install although the pin in the set block did snap off inside the trigger mount hole. Took me a few minutes to figure out why I couldn’t see through the frame to reinsert the housing pin. Trigger is very well made and a noticeable improvement from the factory trigger. Trigger itself is smooth / crisp and the reset is both clearly audible and tactile. I have not changed the springs as the kit is back ordered so the pull is standard Hellcat Pro. Trigger no longer bites my finger after 100 rounds. Very comfortable with a great feel. This is a great upgrade.
All metal construction is far superior to the oem plastic. Increased comfort and feel (of the wall). The pre-travel adjustment is the chefs kiss. I recommend this trigger to all Hellcat owners.
