Ruger 77/22 | 77/17 | 77/357 | 77/44 Trigger Spring Kit
This trigger adjustment spring kit by M*CARBO is designed to work with a variety of Ruger 77 models, enhancing the overall trigger performance of your rifle. Note that this kit is not compatible with Ruger models equipped with a Tang Safety, such as the Hawkeye model.
The custom trigger return spring and sear spring in this kit allow for significant improvement in the trigger pull by adjusting two major components within the trigger assembly. Crafted with precision, the M*CARBO Ruger 77 Trigger Spring is made from the highest quality American Spring Steel - ASTM A228 Music Wire, ensuring a reliable and premium upgrade for your Ruger 77/22.
This versatile kit is compatible with all Ruger 77 calibers and variations, including Ruger 77/12, 77/22, 77/357, and 77/44. The upgrade is a valuable addition to your Ruger 77/22 accessories, delivering a noticeable difference in trigger feel and performance across various Ruger 77 models.
Included in the kit are Ruger 77 bolt shims – 2x .001" and 2x .002", offering a total of .006" potential adjustment. While it is likely that you won't require more than two shims, all four can be stacked together if necessary. These shims help in ensuring that the bolt is tightly secured against the breech and assist in addressing any manufacturing tolerances between the two major bolt pieces. By achieving optimal bolt tightness, the shims aid in preventing light strikes and misfires without affecting the actual headspace.
Upgrade your Ruger 77 with the best trigger job available, enhancing your rifle’s performance and accuracy right out of the box.

As Great as Anticipated
Delightful. Brought my Ruger 22/77 (1989) trigger pull down from a crisp 4½ pounds to a crisp 2½ pounds . Based on previous experience I was confident of success. Using a similar kit on my Ruger 77 .308 (2018) I brought the trigger pull down from an already crisp 4 pounds to 2 pounds. On a Model 70 (2009) I reduced the pull from 4½ pounds to 2½ pounds.
The bolt already locks up securely so the shims will rest in my spare parts box.
Great improvement for older Ruger 77/22.
( History of rifle) Bought new in 1991, Ruger 77/22 in 22WMR, boat paddle stock, less than 150 rounds. Before installing the Mcarbo upgrade kit, (5) trigger pull average - 4.5 lbs. After trigger spring replacement, (5) pull average - 3.2lbs. As far as the shim kit is concerned, I originally installed the 0.2 shims only & it felt about the same to me. So I disassembled the bolt again & added the 0.1 shims also, & WOW, what a difference it made in solid lockup. I would have never thought with that few of rounds through the rifle that it could possibly need that much. The whole process took about 20 minutes, & is well worth the cost & time. Another great product from Mcarbo & the installation video is fantastic also. I highly recommend this kit & everything I’ve bought from Mcarbo to date. Thanks
Excellent kit
Everything I have purchased from this company has been Q1 and precision fitting. The video's are done nicely as well.
I just acquired a Ruger M 77 in 22 Hornet, the trigger pull was rough and consistently over 4#.Being somewhat frugal I found this online for $19.95+ shipping so gave it a try. After viewing their video,, installation was easy. Tigger pull is now just over 3#. Shipping was fast too.

Improved trigger!
I have a Ruger 77 Hawkeye Compact in .308 Winchester. I ordered the Ruger 77/22 | 77/17 | 77/357 | 77/44 Trigger Adjustment Spring Kit. This was an improvement by all measures. My trigger pull prior measured on a Lyman Trigger Pull Gage averaged 4.2125 pounds. Adding the kit spring alone my trigger pull average was reduced to 3.087 pounds. A reduction of 1.1255 pounds! Sooo much better! The PTFE Superlube added to the sear seem to help too. I bought this after spending $91 on a Rifle Basix "drop in" trigger that was not a good fit and perhaps even, in my experience, unsafe. I reinstalled the factory trigger and added the M*Carbo Trigger kit. Problem solved.
Again I’m Carbo does it makes parts for an older Ruger 77/44 top quality parts trigger pole is awesome shims perfect
M carbo does it again great parts fast shipping for guns that need to be worked price awesome I just wish they carried more parts for different guns. I’d recommend these people to everybody. Thanks again may God bless you all.
Instant success
Anyone can tell you that Ruger m77/22 bolt bodies have plenty of manufacturing tolerance. This shim kit is absolutely perfect for getting everything dialed in. Mine took .003 worth of the shims. After 100 rounds of testing, I haven't had a single light primer strike (was getting about 5-6 per hundred before), and my 3 shot group size tightened up 3/8 of an inch on average to put them all well under MOA. The lighter weight trigger spring should have been factory. It feels fantastic in comparison. It shaved about 2lb off the pull weight. Thanks MCARBO for improving the quality of my life!
I just installed the spring kit on my Ruger M77 MII 7MM.
My trigger pull from the factory was 6.375 lbs.
After the spring replacement it was 4.5 lbs.
I would like to get it lower than 4.5 lbs.
What else can I do?
Wanting to get it to 3 lbs if possible.

Will this trigger spring fit my Ruger Hawkeye Guide Gun in 375 Ruger.

Sorry for the redundant question. I'm assuming the spring and shims in this kit will work with a M77 Mark II in .30-06 and 7mm Magnum? There is not a tang safety on the Mark II rifles... Thanks and Merry Christmas!
It does not fit due to differences in rimfire vs centerfire firearms.
I have a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 7mm-08. It is about 12-13 years old. It is left handed. Can you tell me which spring & shim kit I would need to get some better performance. My trigger currently breaks at 4lb 6oz.
Thanks

will this kit work in a Ruger M77 Mark II--. 223 caliber?
As long as your firearm does not have a tang safety, this kit will fit and function safely for your model!
I installed new trigger spring and .001 bolt shim. Put it back together and my trigger pull went from 4.8 lbs down to 3.55 lbs Was hopping for a lower trigger pull. Everything looks in place. Any suggestions?
We always recommend polishing up any contact surface areas to help smooth out the operation, this may help drop your trigger pull down a little further!
