Our Extra Power AK-47 Recoil Spring is designed to compensate for the common issue of gas ports being drilled out too wide in most AK's, which can lead to over gassing and excessive wear on the internal action of the firearm.
Not only does our recoil spring prevent premature failure, but it also has direct benefits for the shooter. Difficult install. Definitely strong (probably more than 15 percent vs the old Romanian one). 2 person job for sure. If it doesn't cycle, can just drill out gas block bigger. Applied generous coat of miltec-1 and baked it on like 5 times. (And at least 3 coats on everything else) Runs firmly but smoothly.

It works
When installed it functions as a recoil spring. I cannot really feel any difference over the Arsenal supplied spring in my SLR107.
I can tell you that when installing the new spring you will hear words bellowing from your mouth you have never heard before. To say installation is a breeze is delusional. Keep at it and despite the wife going to her mothers house taking the kids and despite your dog hiding from you, eventually you will get the spring installed and the retainer clip back on with only a sore spot on your sternum and a bit of hoarseness to show for your efforts.
I installed an ALG recoil spring in another AK I own........and found the same vocal outbursts during that install as well. Make SURE you want to replace your old spring before going down this road.

Got one of these for my Zastava 7.62x39, curious if it would work on Zastava’s M77 in .308?
Has anyone tried running this in a 5.56 AK? I know it was speced for 7.62X39 just wondering what effect it would have running .223 or 5.56. Have an M90 with the adjustable gas block, so there might be some room for adjustment if it's not too far off.

I have one in my M70 and shot it today. Ram flawless with no issue. Noticeably different recoil impulse. Ordering more for my others as well.

It will work with the 7.62x39 version, as that is the caliber the AK47 is designed for. We can not say the same for the 5.56 version as we have not tested it on any calibers outside 7.62x39

Hello, do you have an extra power spring for a micro Draco.?
I ordered one from you that says it will work with all Draco's..... but it seams to be to long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The piston system is still the exact same as a normal AK, PSA just updated the furniture and refined a few parts. It is still an AK.
