Did the channel liner replacement in conjunction with an upgrade to a Titanium Performance Firing Pin Assembly.
Removal of the OEM channel liner was easy using the removal tool. I was concerned when the new stainless steel liner just dropped in and didn't have a snug fit like the OEM version did, so I sent my concerns to the MCarbo Support Team and they quickly responded with this info:
Is the Loose Fit by Design?
Yes — the slightly looser fit of the stainless steel channel liner compared to the OEM polymer one is by design.
Here’s why:
OEM Glock channel liners are polymer, which allows them to expand slightly when pressed into the slide channel, creating a very tight friction fit.
Stainless steel, however, does not expand or compress in the same way, so a slightly looser tolerance is engineered to:
Prevent galling or damage to the slide during installation.
Allow easy removal with a liner tool or punch if future servicing is needed.
Ensure proper firing pin channel alignment and clearance.
M*CARBO designed this component to fit correctly once the slide is assembled, ensuring proper striker operation — even if it feels loose when the slide is disassembled.
? Fitment Expectations
A slight looseness before full assembly is normal.
Once the striker and backplate are installed, the liner is fully supported and does not move or rattle.
The channel liner still properly guides and supports the striker, just like the OEM part.
How can I just buy the liner? I want to upgrade three pistols so need three liners and just one tool. As the tool is the largest and most complicated part of this set I have to think that not needing two of them in a large savings.
We do not sell them separately
We do not sell them seperately
Can I replace the liner and still use the OEM striker?
Yes. no striker upgrades needed
Do you have any instructions for installing the Glock stainless steel liner for the striker? The tool name is misleading as it is only an extraction tool, not an installation tool.
Will this work with 43x & 48?
