The armorers wrench works well it’s heavy and just feels sturdy and it is, but I think an improvement to the wrench could be milling the sub 2000 safety clip removal section. If you removed half of the thickness of the wrench about .25 inch back it would make removing those clips quicker and easier.

I received a newly designed wrench obviously. Gone were the thread protector removals. In there place was a separate 4 pronged collar removal. Along with the regular six prong removal. Which I have and that part worked great. I had no use for the 4 prong part. The C clip removal part, as other have stated, didn't work so well for me. I just pulled them off with needle nose pliers. Chris makes it look so easy. But it seemed too wide or something. That's the only reason for 4 stars. Great tool otherwise.

NICE!

I got this tool with the Pro Performance Trigger Kit, and it certainly made the job of installing trigger much easier, also great quality tool to have when needed. Removing castle nut without this tool would be a little more of a challenge so it saves on time as well.

Only really wanted this to remove the collar

I saw other videos using a vice, punch, and hammer to remove the collar and hacking it and the buffer tube up while doing so. Unfortunately, my hand slipped and I still managed to very slightly scratch the tube. Really, it's barely noticeable. I'd probably do a lot worse if I did the hammer and punch method. This came as part of the Pro Performance package. I didn't find the e-clip removal tool as helpful as it was portrayed in the YouTube vid. Perhaps some of the sub2k has slightly different tolerances but I couldn't get the tool to fit and pry the e-clip like the video. Using pliers to pull of the e-clip worked just a good. However, putting the e-clip back did slightly redeem this part of the tool. So three stars only b/c I only used it for 1 out of 3 designed purposes. Excellent for collar removal. Moderately ok as an e-clip tool. and didn't use the thread protector remover portion (though the thread protector on my sub2k was only finger tight).

Please make a Gen 1 Tool. I made one from your Gen 2 Tool.

I knew in advance before purchasing the full MCARBO kit that the wrench was for Gen 2 collars only. I have GEN 1 Sub 2k.

Once I received the wrench I took a dremel with a sharp carbide burr in it and removed 4 of the six tangs in the tool leaving 2 opposed.

The wrench worked fantastic on my Gen 1 leaving no tool marks when the job was completed.

Glad I went ahead and purchased the kit with the tools.

quality made tool.

I have done several upgrades to my Gen 2 .40 Sub2000 before this tool was available. I had to use what I had at hand. Just to see the difference, I stripped my carbine down to parts with the tool. It is a solid piece of metal and worked very well for the take down and reassembly. In my opinion, this tool is a must have for any Sub2000 owner who wants to keep the carbine in tip top shape.

Solid tool

What an improvement over a hammer and punch. Fits the spanner but easy, fits the barrel nut on my .40. The clip removal part isn't the handiest, but everything else makes it worth it. Any Sub2K owner needs one.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how sturdy and heavy this wrench is. I have no doubt this wrench can handle any job I throw at it with no stressing or bending of this wrench. Great job!

The Sub 2000 Armorer wrench collar remover didn't work on my Sub 2000 plastic collar.

The tool itself is a nice heavy metal tool, but I was displeased with the wrench as far as being a "needed" tool to upgrade my Sub 2000. The updated plastic collar design is larger than the two tool's collar holes, so neither collar holes will work (see picture). The Sub 2000 Armorer wrench needs to be updated or MCarbo needs to state that - "plastic collars are slightly bigger and will not work with this tool".

The C clip tool did work, but not like you would expect. The tool pointed flare needs to rest on the clip (past the opening, not "on" the opening of the clip) "and then forced outward - see video.

Had to do a complete take-down of my Gen2 Sub2K .40S&W to install some parts. The wrench worked great on the collar and ok on the c-clips. The larger of the 2 thread protector removal holes fits fine on my weapon. This should be one of your "have to have" tools for the sub2K.

Worked well

I read multiple reviews on the M*Carbo site and the Brotherhood’s forum that declared that this tool was useless. I disagree. I used it when I did my trigger job (pretty easy and incredible change for the better). I watched Chris’s video at least 4 times and watched/paused as I worked. I position the C clip and the tool exactly the way Chris did in the video and it worked perfectly; exactly the way it did in Chris’s video.

The e-clip end was too large and I ended up using some pliers instead. The wrench for the castle nut worked as expected.
