Marlin 717 never cycled correctly since purchased 2006. Did a recent search on solutions and came across the Hyper Velocity Spring. Installed and have run several rounds through. Appears to be the solution. Did also learn having clean magazines is critical. As well as Hornady 17m2 is liked by rifle.

What the factory spring should of been
Installed this on my mod. 60. This is one stiff spring. Be careful installing, I kinked mine but was able to straighten it. It works great with cci mini mags. Haven't shot any stingers yet, but I'm sure it will work perfectly. It doesn't slam the buffer like the factory spring. Look out tree rats.
During the Corona crisis,I am building a Rifle from ground up. This Spring is a nice addition. Great customer service and quick shipping. Cant say how it works because project is not completed yet. Liberal State is holding up Receiver.
I purchased this spring with high hopes. It is of high quality. But I found this spring TOO strong. I could not get the spring compressed enough to properly install the bolt assembly. After much effort and multiple attempts the spring kinked and bent on a 90 degree angle completely damaging the spring. My investment was totally ruined. Unless an armorer has a special tool to install this heavy spring... DON'T waste your money.
Just installed the hyper velocity spring and right out of the package you can tell how well it was made. It was exactly what I was looking for. Install was a breeze. Can’t wait to hit the range! Thanks MCARBO!!!!!
This replacement spring is very well made and is just what I needed to replace my old worn out and slightly bent one. I have not had a chance to fire the rifle with the new spring installed, but I am looking forward to doing just that. Shipping was very quick.
