This seems to be an improvement over the factory parts. Easy to install, though a third hand would make it easier. The captive spring on the plunger ensures you only need to look for one part on the floor rather than two. I've done the install on my original P265 and on my XL. I'll be ordering an additional unit for my X-Macro when it's available.
This titanium striker has really been the best internal upgrade by far. The fact that the plastic housing is now eliminated and the spring is lighter along with all the machined aspects truely has transformed this pistol. The drag and grit is gone replaced by responsive feedback. I used it on 124gr CCI Blazer fmj, Sig V-Crown 124gr, MagTech 115gr and Federal HST +P 124, all with no issues at all. My particular 365 has many aftermarket parts but the fire-control system is stock Sig save for MCarbo's sprink kit. Now it sports under 4.4 pounds total pull with the included 3 pound main spring yet it feels so much lighter while still being safe. Note that the trigger spring kit has a 4lbs spring for the striker, which yeilded 5.5lbs trigger pull at peak, barely more if any want nearly the same feel. Very very pleased with this striker. No light hits at all, just seemless, fast and clean. Feels like a $1,000 pistol.
I ordered the titanium striker and end plate kit for my sig P365 XL. The item was backordered and it took about six weeks to get it. I watched their on site video several times when the item arrived it was a cinch to put in. This is a really nice upgrade to the factory striker and plastic sleeve. Headed right to the range after install and test fired. Not a single malfunction out of sixty rounds. I have a lot more confidence in the firearm now.
I keep my review short. I just want to say that I love how smooth this striker operates and how little vibration is created. But most of all I want to thank Jacob and Waldo and everyone at MCarbo for such excellent customer service and getting this product out to me as soon as possible. They went above and beyond which is what I’ve come to expect from everyone at MCarbo
I got three assemblies, installed two with no problem. then with the third I discovered that the slide did not have the cutout where the striker cap retaining plunger fits. Contacted sig and was told that about 1 in 20 of the Sig slides do not have the cutout. I contacted M Carbo and Jacob said that their striker unit would not work with a slide without the cut and they would send a preaid shipping label so I could get a refund, I plan on seeing if my gunsmith/machinist can make a cutout. M Carbo needs to put a disclaimer in their product description to have potential customers to examine their slide before ordering, or offer a service to modify the slide for the striker assembly.
I cannot attest about the original MIM striker vs Titanium striker considering that I built my own p365XL from a FCU to cut down on parts accumulation. Nonetheless functions and fits perfectly. Trigger pull is about 3.2-3.4lbs. I was considering the MCARBO trigger however I’m running a manual safety and preferred a pretravel function over postravel to be as close to wall as possible. Without a manual safety I believe the MCARBO trigger would have been safest and optimal option. Extended mag is amazing and looks the part with the Icarus lower. - Orlando FL
This is quite the upgrade from the plastic POS that Sig provides! Excellent fit and function!!!
I was a little skeptical that the cost would justify the performance advantage over stock but I was so wrong. Besides the obvious advantage of being made from titanium, when coupled with the short stroke trigger the pull and reset are noticeably crisper. I am comparing this side by side to the same gun with just the trigger upgrade and the difference in tactile feel is night and day. Will be ordering one for my P365 that just has the short stroke trigger as soon as they come back in stock. Two thumbs up M Carbo.
This is an amazing upgrade to my P365XL. Definitely worth the wait. You can feel the difference right away!!! This is a fantastic company to work with and their customer service is awesome!
As much as I love my Sig P365 and P226, I was shocked to find a large chunk of black plastic designed into my stock striker. I elected to upgrade to this titanium striker assembly, even though I think it is way overpriced. I think $80-100 would be a fair price. I know from their back-ordering that they are selling a ton of them, so the up-front engineering and production set-up costs should be easily covered, so how about dropping the price, Brothers? My stock striker had several gouges in the plastic parts, so I think the replacement was warranted. While I was waiting for the back-ordered part, I disassembled it to polish out the plastic gouges. The removable spring cups are tricky, but I got them back in okay. The titanium replacement was a little sticky in action, so I disassembled it to put a small amount of Slide-Glide by Brian Enos where needed. Unfortunately, this time one of the plastic spring cups shot off into space somewhere. I used one of the stock cups to complete reassembly. MCarbo sells replacements for $20 a pair— yikes! Together they are about the size of a pea. Pretty pricy, but you’ve gotta have them. Just a warning to the wise!
I bought this kit when it was first introduced as I have P-365, that I still don't shoot as well as my SIG P-939, I'm a little older guy raised on single actions, and I don't do well with striker fired triggers. I installed a flat trigger that helped and put it in a Wilson frame slight improvement, when I saw that this kit had an improved sear, I thought this might be what I needed. When I bought the P-365 I worked at a range, when I asked how they held up he told me the weakness of the firearm was the recoil spring and the sear assembly. When I saw that this kit had an improved sear, this seemed like a no brainier, I had never dissembled the slide before but the U Tube videos you guys have are awesome! And that is when I found the rust inside of the slide where the striker assembly is, that took a good hour to clean up and lube, when I went to put it back together the strikes went in everything was great until my finger slipped holding the retainer pin cap for the back plate, I found the cap and spring, I put a little grease inside of the cap to hold them together and made a second try, and lost them both. I slid the back plate on without them and it seemed to stay in so I put everything back together and tried the trigger, it was AWESOME!!! At 66 and arthritis in hands I have a little trouble with the tiny parts, I bought a CZ 75 trigger kit from MCARBO that that I lost a small plunger and spring as well and they were quick to send me a replacement, hopefully they will get back to me soon so I can shoot this puppy.
This is a substantial improvement over the stock Sig striker assembly. However, my P365XL slide lacked the "cutout" for the new endcap retaining pin. This applies to very few pf the 365s, but if there had been a prominent advisory note, I would have looked before ordering. Both initial and return shipping were handled promptly. I have other MCarbo products and consider it a high quality firm.
Sorry guys, I reviewed the wrong product. This is the one I had meant to review. I don't own the other one. Anyhow, here is a copy and paste...People throw the word genius around willy nilly. I am not one of them people. I say, this is genius. It is not only better and smarter in concept but also in material. Sig Sauer would be wise to ask for help from this company. Thank you MCARBO for having the creative talent and initiative to make such genius improvements. The engineer of this particular item seems to me to have genius and passion for his work. I thank all of you. Cheers and Aloha to you.
Such a great solution to sig’s plastic garbage. Love it, keep up awesome innovations! (Extended slide catch & takedown levers would be greaaaaare 😉🤞🙏)
The first 50 rounds down range with the M*CARBO striker assembly. Looking at the cases I can see primer drag is greatly reduced and eliminated in on some cases. It does make a difference in that department. Having all metal parts that wont fatigue with repeated disassembly is the big factor for me. It takes a little dexterity to get it apart and back together but the design id durable and locks positively. No mushy plastic tab. I like the Sig P365 and it's modular design. It's worth pimping it out.
This striker felt so good I got it for both my 365x and shalotek xxl slides. Installed the strikers with the spring they came with. However after going to the range I noticed it worked flawlessly with factory ammo, but using reloads I was getting 20 to 40 percent light primer strikes. I put the OEM spring in both slides but kept the titanium striker. Went back to the range and no more issues with reloads. Trigger feels just a bit higher weight than with the lighter spring but not drastically. So if you reload and are having issues, try the OEM striker spring.
