Great improvement & easy to install

This installs quickly and really is a vast improvement over the OEM.
The installation here was about as easy as it gets, just don’t lose the small spring. I ended up swapping out the stock trigger group for a different unit and I transplanted this piece. Makes holding the bolt open a much less finicky affair and the width means no pinching.
Watched the video from Mcarbo prior to the installation, and following the steps I was able to easily replace the stock parts. The Mcarbo piece is much better than the stock part. I have two range sessions in and really like the additional ease of use. I highly recommend this addition to your carbine.
Why didn't Ruger make the bolt hold so small? Well MCarbo has the solution. This part is an easy instll. Just drop out the firing mechanism from the body, make sure the release bar is pointing up (to keep the spring in place), push the pin in just far enough to remove the stock catch, install the MCarbo part, reassemble and verify proper operation. I guarantee you will love the difference it makes. So easy now to lock the bolt back. Way to go MCarbo!
this is probably the best upgrade for the pc carbine but is so underrated. the stock blade style bolt catch is hard to find, awkward and sometimes painful to use when cold and not using gloves. this is what ruger and other manufacterures should have done put in something that may not be "elegant" in that it follows the trigger guard, but instead is useful, comfortable and easily used with gloved hands. this part though simple is a game changer in making the pc carbine more enjoyable to use for extended periods of time at the range.
I have upgraded my Ruger with all available parts provided by M carbo with the exception of the flat trigger. I have to say my weapon is 100% more reliable than it was before, and I have noticed none of the aforementioned issues with the weapon in its stock configuration. Everything is very easy to install and dramatically improves the performance of the weapon. Well done troops!

One thing about the Ruger PC carbine is it just had a real basic plastic hold open button. This product takes about 5 seconds to install if you are holding the trigger group. This upgrade makes it so much easier to get the bolt to hold open.
