Review
I called twice this past week to speak with a service tech. Second time I called I spoke with a lady that told me they were on lunch break. She said she was gona go back and remind them to call me and still no call. 👎 Pretty poor response compared to ur web site brags bout great customer service. Won’t use u again.
Before the upgrades , I didn’t even want to try shooting my pistol. I purchased the bundle and used the video frequently for installation. I had a few issues, but went back to the video and eventually got Eva correctly installed. I also had an issue with the slide block(?) which their gunsmith brought to my attention during our communications. He offered to fix it but I managed to take care of it myself. Three different types of 40 grain ammunition got through without the usual issue we have all had. A worthwhile and welcome investment and upgrade.,I finally enjoy range time with this gun now. Thanks M CARBO!!!
Had MCARBO do part upgrade. As of April they indicated an 8 week turnaround which I decided to bite the bullet on. After 12 weeks started calling and emailing inquiring status. Apparently the range was down(?) precluding test firing. Eventually got firearm back week 13 with test data indicating several instances of failure to eject. They then replaced ejectors with an apparent new "style" and gave it a clean bill of operational integrity. My testing initially was with 50 rounds of Federal 40 grain as specified an approved load by Kel Tec. Thought the trigger was an improvement over original but still had two failures to eject with slide not fully extracting and case in barrel. For now I'll chalk it up to "break in" and will keep my fingers crossed on full fail free performance. For an almost $500 upgrade I'm hoping for full operational failure free performance before I can give it an unconditional recommendation. We shall see....
Had the complete 2021 pro kit installed by Kel-Tec. Easy Peezie
Thanks to M-Carbo, I now have a PMR-30 that is reliable. I don't refer to it as a Kal-Tec, It's now my M-Carbo. I wondered why the magazine kept releasing and found out why, when I watched the M-Carbo video. The way Kal-Tec designed the mag release, the heal of my hand was activating the release. With the new M-Carbo release button, the problem was solved. Thanks M-Carbo for redesigning the slide stop and s.s. feed rump, which solved the feed problem. Great way I was taken care of.
Had problems with my PMR feeding, it was super picky. Order this all in one kit and shazam problem solved. Kit did everything it said it would. Instructional video was great, no problems. Spring on feed ramp was a small challenge, took a few tries to get the spring seated but once it's in it's in. Pistol runs like a champ. Mag release is a huge improvement. Parts are worth the money.
I ordered the upgrade kit for a Keltec PMR 30. I initially planned to install the upgrades myself but since my old eyes cannot seem to focus up close on the very small parts as they did when younger, I decided to send it to Kel-Tec and have them install the parts since their service fee and shipping costs were reasonable. Thanks MCARBO for designing such quality products!
Install I'd rate at 3 of 5 stars. Parts are no doubt better quality than stock. On the over and under travel screws, follow their video on YouTube and get it right, no matter if it takes more than once, of five times, BEFORE you completely put it all back together. Take your time, it's worth it!!! Thanks MCarbo for all the support and hard work!!!!! And yes, the little"recoil spring cup" retainer ring would really come in handy.
Crazy quick and efficient delivery. This bundle is just the ticket for PMR owners. So satisfying to have smooth operating upgrades. I can't wait to do more business with you.
Just finished installing my upgrade parts, couldn't of gone any easier thanks to the detailed videos Mcarbo has. I haven't taken it to the range yet, changes I've already checked, trigger pull is down from 4 to 3lbs, hand cycled two full magazines without a single miss feed. Will add follow up after it take it to the range
Great product. Easy to do watching the video. Works great. No FTF or FTI when shooting without Red dot scope.
First of all good price fast shipping and they get right back to you when you email them all pluses in my mind. Now on to the gun! PMR 30s are basically a really neat piece of crap until you fix them and these parts did exactly that! I'm a Glock tote and Leo and this gun was extremely unreliable beforehand, I wanted to like it but it drove me crazy. it would only feed a couple of types of ammo and then unreliably. I installed all the parts in this kit, which by the way it was super easy especially with the videos and believe me when I tell you I am not a very handy person! I got everything put in, in less than an hour. Then I went out and it not only fired 250 rounds flawlessly, much of it rapid fire and I didn't clean it until done. Not one single malfunction and the felt recoil was much better the trigger was better etc. So all in all two thumbs up!!! And did I mention their customer service was number one 👍
Basically bought this bundle except I swapped out the slide release for the trigger because I like the stock trigger. Fast shipping great installation videos put in the parts in was a snap I'm not very handy and I didn't have the right tools and it was still quite easy. Every one of these parts they claim adds to reliability, I bought them all at one time cuz I didn't want to keep paying shipping and handling LOL and I installed them all at one time because I don't like the idea of unscrewing that gun repeatedly. the upside is it now shoots smooth as butter feeds everything, completely reliable!!! I'm extremely happy. the downside is I don't know which of the upgrades did the most good LOL anyway outstanding job mccarbo. now make a stainless steel feed ramp for the CMR dammit!!!
Kit is well made and works well will order more looking forward to mags coming out
First, I missed the all in one pro bundle by a week, but I had bought the older bundle and most of the rest of the parts separately so I am including my review here. The only parts I am lacking are the slide release and safety switches. And I have the older feed ramp. Second, this is the first time I've taken anything like this apart. I found the videos very helpful. They are well written, well paced and the images and instructions are very clear. Installation took me several hours but I worked slowly and paused the videos a lot. A few things were a bit more challenging for me and I ended up doing them differently: 1) I could not get the retaining wire off of the slide spring using two pairs of pliers - just not coordinated enough. I ended up placing the spring assembly in the M-CARBO bench block as shown and then used a different bench block that I already owned that had a slightly smaller hole in it and placed it on top and used it to compress the spring assembly. I used needle nose pliers in my other hand to remove the retaining wire. 2) When assembling the new retaining spring I ended up using a pair of locking vice grip pliers (with a piece of blue disposable shop towel padding) to grip the rod while holding the spring down enough to install the retaining wire. If I ever replace this again I will do this instead of what I did (described above) to remove the retaining wire as well. No tension and easy to work with. 3) It took me many tries to get the wire on the new feed ramp installed. I think if it were a millimeter longer it would have been easier - however then it might have been to long after installation. And eventually I got it installed. I trust that M-CARBO knows what they are doing. 4) Assembly was easier than I thought it would be however after assembly the trigger would not activate. I tried loosening the screws but that did not help. And with the slide off it's also easy to tell if the trigger bar is free to move. As I had the hammer cocked, I was reluctant to take the gun apart to adjust the trigger set screws. I think I had them both too far out - I can't really count the threads that well - should have used a magnifying glass. I first adjusted the longer screw using needle nose pliers but that did not help. For the screw at the front (reset?) of the trigger I discovered that you can take out most of the frame screws, part the trigger guard slightly and reach the screw be inserting the hex key between the trigger guard halves. After turning it in a few turns, the trigger began to work as expected. I have not taken it to a range yet and have only dry fired it with snap caps but so far everything works well. And, as a veteran myself I appreciate the hard work that M-CARBO has done in producing this. Steve
Great upgrade kit. Easy to install and really enjoy the guidance in the video. Keep up the great work. These guys get it !!
