I bought the PMR30 after comparing it with one other 22mag handgun. After purchase, my hubby saw the MCARBO video review of the handgun. Without even putting one round through it, we ordered the upgrade. The order came within 5 days, and we rebuilt it. If you are comfortable taking a pistol apart for cleaning, you should be able to do the upgrade without a problem. Disclaimer: my husband has a Marine background, and is a tool & die maker/machinist. The only thing I can say that we wish we had done was order the bench block. It would have made things easier for us. We were doing the rebuild along with the video, which is something I highly recommend. Being it was our first rebuild, it took us about 1.5 hours. We waited a few days after the rebuild to let the screw lock set up good. The first time shooting it was awesome!! No jams to clear, the total upgrade performed flawlessly. Totally worth the money to upgrade, the parts that were replaced we definitely doomed to fail. And the clip release really tightened up the slop in how the clip fits. If you have PMR30 you should do this upgrade, the parts are well made and the fit exactly. Installation was pretty simple and the video was easy to follow. There is one thing that would help with the installation is to supply a new ring that secures the recoil springs. I am very please with kit and the customer service I received.
Bought a slightly used PMR30 (Keltec) and after reading about all the failure to feed problems associated with this pistol never even shot it before ordering the upgrade kit from M-Carbo. Installed the kit and have not had even one ftf yet. Great product.
I installed the kit very easy with watching the video. Like Ron had the same issue with the spring but just put the screws in the left side. (I should of read the reviews first) I liked the way all the parts were machined and fit! I’ve rebuilt my Sub2000 with parts from here before and they both have fired great! Definitely recommend this kit!
Just finished the upgrade install today. Just fired 25 rounds rapid fire, no FTF, no other hiccups. Will run a few mags through it later and see how she dances. I like all of the changes, especially the new mag release and the polished feed ramp. Thank goodness for the video. You might slow it down a little, as us old folks don’t move so fast anymore. Overall, excellent job guys.
I used the MCARBO video and did the upgrades to my PMR30 efficiently. I can't wait to try it out. Love the products. Love the passion MCARBO has about creating the best engineered products to enhance various firearms. Awesome! Top it off with veteran made in the USA parts and it's a no brainer for me. Can't wait to buy something again from y'all. And yes figure out a replacement heat resistance buffer for the PMR30. That would be a great addition as well.
Awesome took some time to put together. Seems scary because you are taking apart your gun but watch the video that Chris and MCARBO provides and you will be fine.
First off I am a retired mechanic with experience in assembly of small parts, and also a marine veteran. I installed the improvement kit and the firearm is still not performing as is should. I polished the feed ramp and have tried 4 different magazines. Guess the next step is to a gunsmith, witch I have never had to use.. it probably has to do with the firearm itself, should have sent it back to KELTEC in the beginning.
If you have mechanical ability and can take something apart and put it back together you can install this kit. If not send it to MCARBO and they will do it for you. I did it myself and only issue was I did tighten the frame screws a little to tight and magazine did not want to drop out, loosens the screws and no issues. Gun shoots great 50 rounds no issues. The Brothers at MCARBO shipped fast and were standing by if I need assistance. I have bought from them before and will again. I have 2 more PMR30 as time goes by will probably get upgrade kits for them. Maybe I could get a deal, hint, hint.
Parts are great, much superior to factory. Installation was not difficult but had some surprises. Lost the wire retainer for the recoil spring. Thought I would just make a new one, but on reassembly I also lost the recoil spring retaining washer. Tore my work area apart looking for these items--no where to be found. Ordered a new factory recoil assembly to get the parts I needed. Much more careful the second time and completing the upgraded PMR30 was complete. Works just as intended--very reliable and smooth. I would have preferred to have a complete new recoil assembly.. All in all, great job.

I followed the installation video and the upgraded parts went in with no issues. I went out to shoot it and had to adjust the safety selector screws...do not overtighten, and works great now. I have replaced all the upgrade parts for the PMR-30 and it is one awesome pistol now...Thank you!!!
Good upgrade. Fairly easy for anyone with decent tool skills. Used the upgrade video for "tricks & shortcuts".
A nice "all in one kit". It's true that the spring on the guide ramp is a bugger to install. Everything did fit well. But (see pictures) this is the only time Ii have had this problem. The dent in the case happens when using an Israeli speed loader, its the problem I think. How though, does the F-pin release before the breach is closed? Pre/post trigger adjustment? Anyway, I am enjoying my PMR-30 , "tuning" is half the fun. J. Horn
I sent my PMR-30 to MCARBO to have the completer package done to it. I've seen videos of the completed work in action. I can't wait.
