Quality product needs good polishing before install. Little spring is a bitch to get it in small hole.
I'm a Glock guy and a Leo, reliability is everything! And I was getting a minimum of two malfunctions a magazine after a thousand rounds through my PMR 30. After adding the magazine release, the feed ramp, and the spring upgrades, I just ran 250 rounds through it flawlessly. and it seems to shoot better on top of that, as far as recoil etc. I'm not handy and by no means an armorer, had the wrong damn tools etc and yet this really was a piece of cake to put all this in! although mcarbo you're right you guys need to start manufacturing an improved buffer! Also I will suggest before you try the spring upgrade, you have a small pair of needle nose pliers to do the spring LOL. These guys were a blessing to deal with, they immediately return your emails and take care of problems. I now have a fully reliable gun that I wouldn't mind carrying EDC thank you fellas! There's also a law enforcement/military discount that I didn't realize they had so make sure you take advantage of that fellas!
I bought an all-in one kit about a week before MCARBO put this new version 2 feed ramp for sale. What I received was the prior version,, and to be dead honest, it sucked totally and was no better than the stock feed ramp was. I called to express my experience and to buy the new version, which turned out to be a big improvement over the stock piece and far more effective than the first feed-ramp this site put out. I have returned the first feed ramp..., but have not seen any refunds on it, which when I called was told I had bought it before they advertised the new improved feed ramp! I feel like half ripped off, really. The so-called improved trigger looks better than the stock one but, again, to be honest, it was not any dramatic improvement if any. The improved magazine release did improve the snugness of the magazine in place and I consider that a good improvement. At this point, my PMR-30 runs very reliably (on 40-gr ammo only). Cost? IF I do not receive a full refund on the first useless feed ramp, my opinion would be careful on what you buy...
1st attempt was a fail due to manufacturing tolerances. Thanks MCARBO for finding the mistake and contacting me ASAP. I had the first feed ramp installed but knew something wasn’t right. Before I could contact MCARBO they contacted me and sent a new feed ramp to me. I’ve installed the new corrected feed ramp and it went it just like the factory made it to fit. I installed the SS feed ramp and stronger recoil spring and tomorrow will do the grip tape. Thanks Again for the great customer service.
Yes they did have a bad run but they sent me the replacement without even asking. Looks good, runs great!!! Kel-Tec should make these standard!
This should not be an upgrade. It should be standard to selling the gun.
Installed this upgrade feed ramp on my CMR-30 in about 30 minutes. Read all kind of reviews how the CMR-30 can have feeding issues so after I bought my KT home I immediately installed this item. I didn't want to go to the gun range with my KT and finding out it would not cycle properly. First magazine through my KT had no problems what so ever. Bullets feed very smoothly. Did not start having problems until I tried my other magazines and found out you have to make sure you load your magazines properly by the instruction manual. After going back and reloading my magazines the weapon performed flawlessly. Not a single feeding issue after 180 rounds. Maybe my factory feeding ramp might have worked then maybe not. I just now that I read enough articles about the PMR & CMR's that I took the steps to eradicating the problems they had before going to the gun range which result in great results in dependability and accuracy. Highly recommend this upgrade.
I knew when I saw these machined feed ramps they were an absolute necessity. The PRM30 has been plagued by failure to feed issues from its inception. The cause: new owners of the weapon refuse to read and/or follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding the ammunition this weapon likes to eat. Be that as it may, we owners are always trying to see what "else" we can do with our weapons and failure to feed issues, in the case of the PRM30, are born. But installing this new M-CARBO feed ramp is a MUST! From the first shot following installation, you will forget all about failure to feed issues! They're just flat gone! This is the way Keltec should have made their feed ramp to begin with but, failing that, M-CARBO came to the rescue! The installation video shows a special tool that makes seating the feed ramp spring easier. I shouldn't just gloss over that point. Without having the proper tool(s) to get the end of that little spring into that tiny retention hole, you're likely to fail at the installation. I didn't have that little tool from M-CARBO because I didn't realize it was that critically necessary to get the feed ramp installed. I used a hemostat. I grabbed the first coil of the spring with the hemostat and locked it. Then, I was able to twist the spring (to make it tighter) and press the tip of the spring into the little retention hole. Without the hemostat, I cannot imagine a way I could have done it. If you buy this beautifully crafted feed ramp, be sure to pick up the little tool also. You won't be sorry! And you will curse the day if you don't! It's nearly impossible to install it without that little special tool. Just sayin'. Beyond that, once I got the feed ramp installed, I manually racked the slide several times and the bullets fed flawlessly from a completely full 30-round magazine! I was so excited! Coincidentally, that same night, we had a coyote with a fresh kill singing and yodeling at our fence line, making all my dogs go nuts! Finally, at 10:30, I took my PMR30 out onto my back deck with my best flashlight. I located that coyote and with one shot, I silenced his singing. I noticed how well the second round fed up that polished M-CARBO feed ramp! And the round I fired was number 30 in the magazine! It was plumb full and it functioned flawlessly. Get this thing! Seriously! It's the best and you will be completely satisfied with the performance of your gun once it is installed! I cannot say it enough! You need this feed ramp and your PMR30 will be your favorite gun from here on!
I watched the very well done installation video then polished and installed this mcarbo stainless steel feed ramp, a new mcarbo magazine catch and mcarbo recoil springs. My new PMR-30 ran perfect. I am very happy. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and get the little spring tool for this install. You'll thank me later.
No installation video but used the PMR video as a guide. Not that difficult once you figure out the differences / note the mechanics. DEFINITELY use the Armorer's Spring Tool - otherwise, a minimum three shot of 110 proof job. Ramp is beautifully crafted and machined. VERY happy with the product. Four full 30-round mags put through the CMR post-installation with not one glitch.
Wear safety glasses while polishing. Spring will make you curse but has to be done. I went this way because my old spring broke and ss block holds spring securely. Had an increasing problem with fte. The solution was cleaning the ejectors, no oil. No problem now, fires all cartridges and kicks them out effectively. Replaced earlier firing pin design after it shattered, new one flawless. I can now fast fire the gun with confidence!
Great item and easy to install if you watch the videos that are available out there. The entire firearm is difficult but these guys tried very hard to make it easy to swap this item for the original plastic one. They recommend getting the replacement magazine release, DO IT, if only for the assembly tool because that spring in the mag release button is a pain the fourth point of contact.
I followed the video and install this part with no problems. I used a good grade of polish and it came out like a mirror. The small installation tool was a must. PS, that small mark on the factory part, is the gate inlet from injection molding process. Vic Simich
Excellent guys to work with having excellent accessories for pmr 30, freight was a little slow but what do you expect from democraps Thanks guys
I just wanted to emphasize what one of the other reviewers stated that worked for me, "I basically hooked the slide release to the spring outside of the gun & placed them in the gun together. It was a little tricky but I got everything in place without too much trouble" Even with the custom spring tool, I was having a fit so I hooked them together removed from the gun and then reinstalled. Just have to be careful to keep the spring in there while re-installing but that was much easier for me. Great upgrade!
