This was an interesting endeavor installing this part. I purchased it along with a trigger bar, the stainless feed ramp. I am on a budget and could not afford the extra for the trigger and other sundries that was recommended. I do my own gunsmithing and have rebuilt many pistols, rifles and revolvers. I thought this would be a quick job after polishing the feed ramp and the hammer bushing. I know that the bushing did not really need polishing, but I was on a roll. I re-assembled the firearm and it was as before, the charging handle had some resistance to it and was difficult to lock into the bolt lock slot. I dismissed this as it was new and I have not taken it to wring it out, 100-200 rounds, whatever it took. When I did get to the outback to try 'er, she fired one round and feed the next into the chamber. Second round was a light hammer strike on the primer. I rejected it and chambered another round. Still noticing the resistance in the charging handle. Squeezed the trigger and again, no ignition due to a light primer strike. Third attempt and same results. Dissembled the firearm again, and carefully examined the relationship of the hammer bushing, hammer and hammer spring. The hammer spring in conjunction with the Mcarbo hammer bushing set the hammer spring into the center of the slot cut out in the buffer tube. The hammer spring filled the gap in the buffer tube and beyond, compressing the spring laterally and causing a severe drag as the charging handle is pulled back to cock the hammer and put a round in the chamber. To rectify this engineering deficiency, I measured the hammer spring width at the point of assembly and ground out the buffer tube enough to allow it unfettered movement in the action and swing of the hammer. Re-assembled the firearm and ran the charging handle a few times checking the orchestration of the new parts installed. I did not want to change the dimensions of the hammer spring, as that would have compromised the shape and function of the spring, so the buffer tube minimum gap was enlarged to effect that there was clearance for the hammer swing to operate as intended. I wrote this for other self installers as a caution and to check the clearances of the above mentioned buffer tube in relation to the spring and hammer. It took some good time to correct the situation and now I have a fully functional sub 2000 to have the confidence to fire every single time the trigger is squeezed. I thank you for reading my review and I hope that this helps others as to the design flaws that occur with mass produced economical firearms.
This is a high quality part and definitely needed to ensure that your sub will function for many years.
First off I cannot say enough good things about M-Carbo ; very fast shipping, great staff and attentive to the needs of their customers. I upgraded my Sub2000 Multi-Mag to the Glock version as well as most of the internal parts including this one. M-Carbo is hands down the best source of aftermarket parts for your Sub2000 that I have been able to find online ; even better than Kel-Tec themselves
I replaced this part along with the trigger bar to go along with my trigger and spring kit. The old plastic part already had some chips and gouges. I've put maybe 1000 rounds through the Sub in the past couple of months.
Great product surely this will add a lot more years in the fight.
This well made part is much stronger that the OEM. It came included with the All In One Pro Performance Trigger Job Bundle. Unfortunately the installation video for that product did not mention this part. I was ready to reassemble the receiver when I discovered this leftover part. MCARBO really needs to update their videos.
Ordered this along with other upgrades. As with all MCarbo products it is very high quality and a big improvement of the original.
Easy install. Followed the install video. Worked as advertised! My original hammer bushing was worn. No worries now. Another great Sub2K upgrade from M*CARBO!

Simple upgrade but worth it. I noticed my original piece was starting to look a little beaten up. I am sure it would of kept working just fine but, again simple upgrade and puts your mind at ease.
Ordered this bushing and the SS locking pin. Actually had forgotten about the order (really busy. yes, that's my story and I'm sticking to it). But Chris and company are real brothers. They noticed that the items had not been delivered and made contact. Items have now been delivered and are as advertised. Thanks for keeping an eye out on my six.

This is one of the items I would recommend to replace. The solid steel bushing basically drops right in and replaces the plastic one that shows wear from factory
