Review
Kit works as advertised. Went from a 6 1/2 pound pull to a very crisp 4 witch for a carry gun is very good. The cost of this kit and the polishing work pays off and still cheaper than the performance center cost and actually feels alot smoother and crisper then paying more money. Plus you’ll feel better about doing the work yourself.
Kit was nicely put together and the installation video provided was excellent. This does require some work, take your time on the polishing, it’s worth it. My rear site was not as easy to remove as in the video, so again, take your time. I am not sure about the heavy duty return spring yet, may go back to stock. But need more time shooting first to decide. When testing the pull weight after completion, there was some inconsistency. Will retest after there is more time on the trigger. Overall I am very pleased, big improvement over stock, super smooth take up, nice wall with crisp clean break and reduced pull weight.
I never could get the rear sight off. It was frozen solid. The video used a new Shield 2.0 which made it look easy. The video did not apply to guns with a safety. Most of the polishing was unnecessary. There may have been some trigger improvement but the gun is too small to tell as it jumps when fired. I do not want to waste money on a trigger gauge. Nothing would lay flat on the block they sell. Do not buy.
Don't notice any difference in the pull weight at all. Feels like I did nothing to it. May want to save your money and buy elsewhere. Gonna keep it bc I've installed it and pretty sure it's considered used and can't return or i would.
I just got done doing the spring swap, and full polish job as shown in the video. Trigger IS smoother, but that's to be expected with all the little bits all shiny now. After final assembly my trigger pull was reduced from 5.9 Lbs. down to a much smoother 4.8 lbs. Only a 19% reduction in pull. The good news is, it's still got a good strong primer strike. Any suggestions about reducing the pull to the 2.5 lb level mentioned in the ad?
I don't know if even a Silver Star would sum up the performance these fine gentlemen have done with this kit. My carry is now my "go-to" because of the time and effort that went into this package, and the incredible how-to video to support. Thank you M-CARBO brothers for your attention to detail. These gents obviously know and love what they do. Coming from someone that takes things apart and reassembles better than previous, this what it is all about! If you haven't taken advantage of M-CARBO's offerings, that would be a mistake. 2.3lbs down from 5.6lbs. Butter. Kudos.
Night and day difference in the trigger pull. Bought 2 for a buddy and myself, both extremely happy. Not too light but much smoother. Thanks again
Totally changes the trigger feel . Love the new feel . I had alittle more trouble moving the sight than the video showed but worth the effort !
This product is the real deal. very satisfied.
I bought this kit to improve the trigger on my S&W M&P 9mm Shield. I started with a 6.5lb pull and with moderate work, was able to get a 4.5lb pull. I followed along with a very well done video. My groupings are much better and the trigger pulls much cleaner. I highly recommend this kit if your trigger is gritty feeling and heavy.
This group is on top of their game. Spring kit (and instructional video) made my work on my shield easy and straight forward. Trigger pull is much lighter (I have no measuring device). This is a great bunch of folks, Richard was very helpful...thanks, I will buy again when needed!
Great product! Instructions were simple and it took no time at all. Not a competitive shooter here but when you can improve your firearm this much I mean why not! Thank you! Great work!!! BZ
I'm a little disappointed in the results i got from the spring kit. I did the polishing and installed the spring kit. The trigger pull is much smoother, but the pull weight went from 61/2 pounds to 5 pounds, which is an improvement, but was hoping to have a pull weight around 4 pounds. Was it worth the price of the kit? Probably so.
This may not be the thing for a novice to do, but I've worked with several gunsmiths and had no problems doing the disassembly and reassembly to exchange the springs. Combine this with the polishing kit and you have a real winner. Very satisfied. My Shield's trigger is 100% better! Watch the videos, very well done.
Just completed my Mcarbo spring upgrade for my shield. Other than removing the rear sight the process went well. The rear sight on the shield cannot be removed with a traditional wedge and hammer. It required a gunsmith and brute force. The rear sight has a raised ridge on the sight base that must be filed down if you plan to remove it again. The bottom line is the trigger pull was reduced 33% from 7.5 lb to 5 lb and was smooth as silk. My shot groups improved significantly. The shield went from good to great. My only concern is the striker does not appear to hit the primer as hard as before with the stock spring. However I never had a misfire after the spring install. Great product!
I've never done anything like this before. After watching the video, it gave me the confidence needed. I purchased the spring kit, the punches, the gun block, and the polishing kit. Using the video again I went step by step and completed the trigger job. I notice a significate reduction in the trigger pull. Before doing the trigger job I had difficulty pulling the trigger and keeping the sights aligned. I went out and shoot the pistol this Sunday. OMG, I love it. The reduction in trigger pull was just what this pistol needed. It's now one of my favorite guns to shoot. Thank you.
