I just bought a S&W 9mm shield and watched MCarbo's video on changing out the springs. I am not a gun smith but it seemed easy enough so I ordered the spring kit, Polishing kit and the gun block. I also had to order some brass and steel punches to remove the pins. The kits all arrived and I was able to sit down with my laptop to rewatch the video while trying to do all the steps. I had to back up several times. The hardest part was moving the rear sight out of the way. Everything else was well explained by the videos and I have it all together now. One trick I did do to avoid making a mess. I found a small box about 8 inches square and laid it on its side on my bench and reached inside to do my polishing so it would not sling all over the place. I do not have a trigger pull meter but I can tell it is smooth and easier to pull. Thank you, I may try some more now.
Got this kit in 4 days after ordering and went to put it in as quick as possible, must say that it made a bigg difference, got 30% lower trigger pull and a much clearer reset. Good job and thanks again for quick delivery and a quality product.
Installed on 1st gen 9mm Shield. I ordered the polish kit, CLP, and gunsmith block from M.Carbo. Got a 2 sdp Dremel & hammer off Amazon. I followed the You Tube instruction video carefully. Trigger pull feels smooth but still heavy, measures 5.5 lbs. I really hoped for close to 3.5.
Having purchased other spring kits from MCARBO, I knew this one for my .45 Shield would be of like quality. Before I ordered I asked if there was a difference between the calibers. BOOM! MCARBO answered my question in lightening fast order. It did not matter what caliber I had the spring kit was interchangeable. The spring kit arrived in 4 days! Super fast shipping even over a Major holiday. Watching the video, the spring update was made and the next day it was to the range. Wow, does not even start to explain the difference. I started off with nearly a 6 pound trigger pull, and when finished it was reduced to 2.8 pound pull. This increased accuracy on my part of easy of trigger squeeze. You can 't go wrong with these products.

Hello All, I just received the kit and started right away to install in my firearm. Before ordering, I viewed the whole tutorial and believe it to be excellent in detail. For me, there was less to do as I have the Performance Center M&P Shield 2.0 Plus with Comp. I did have the edges or burrs on the striker safety or striker that apparently is more prominent in other similar models. All that being said, when I was finally through in about a full hour, I still noticed a difference. In my dry-fire my groupings were tighter, The gritty feeling pulling past the wall was now gone. I would suggest using the block they offer and perhaps some other accessories that would make your install easier and faster. I have one that is flat which makes it a bit more challenging. I had to cut the supplied spring rod supplied as it would not allow the block to be seated. The spring may have a way of coming off when pushing in the pin so I would also recommend a pair of small very long nose pliers so you don't have to redo the block install again. Also, that tiny bit of 1000 grit sandpaper is really way too small especially for someone with big mits. Here I would also suggest a nail file to speed the process and perhaps do a better job. All in all I am very happy I did it.
Installing the trigger kit for the S&W Shield was easy following the video guide. Reduced the trigger pull from 6.5# down to 4.5#. This installation & polishing certainly helps remove the grittiness from the trigger pull.
The video is one of the best out there for the Shield. Did all the polishing and installed the kit for my buddy's birthday. He was in awe of the difference. A must have upgrade from a company that provides the best in products and communication.
To conceal carry in California I prioritized ability to conceal when choosing a weapon, so I chose the M&P Shield 9mm. But because of the trigger pull feeling like I was pulling a cow through the mud to get the gun to fire, I had terrible shooter anticipation. I was MUCH more accurate with the crisp trigger of my HK USP .45. The M-Carbo trigger kit for the M&P Shield and the polishing has changed everything. The M&P Shield trigger now has an obvious reset position and the trigger pull is crisp and precise. The shooter anticipation is gone. I am now proud to show off my targets. The how-to video was EXCELLENT. I just followed every step. It was a lot of work, but very well worth it! I took longer than the video because I added deep cleaning steps while I had the gun all apart. Great product. You have boosted my accuracy and therefore my confidence as a protector of my loved ones. Thank you.

Went together as said it would. Like the feel. Just at about 4lbs.
The video was great, however, the process as depicted was much harder to perform. The results are better then before not as good as I had hoped. Final trigger break point is about 4.5 lbs - initial was 7.8 lbs. Putting everything back provided a good lesson in "patience
Installed this kit into a new M&P9 Shield Plus Carry Comp along with the polish job. Despite a little confusion going in as to whether or not it would do much, I'm happy to report it did produce results. The trigger went from 4lb12.4oz to 3lb2oz or 34% reduction (avg of 10 pulls with wheeler electronic gauge placed at btm of trigger, both before and after). Additionally the take-up, wall, and break all seemed improved which was likely a combination of the springs and the polishing of key components. The key differences in the install video gun and mine were (a) the sear spring in the kit wasn't long enough because in my pistol there was no OEM detent on top of it. The factory spring looked to have been lengthened so the detent could be deleted, and (b) while the sear pin looks very similar to the one in the video, upon closer examination it no longer has a perfectly circular head but rather an odd oblong profile that orients into a matching countersunk profile in the sear block. The only other point vs the install video is i used a Wheeler armorers sight pusher. My rear sight dovetail was so tight from the factory after removing the set screw that I couldn't budge it with a hammer and punch over a bench block. Additionally the wood dowel i ordered from M*Carbo just splintered at both ends. I'm very happy with the online instructions for both the spring kit install as well as the thorough primer on how to properly polish the critical parts. Now to get to the range for some live operation.
