Review
After installing one in my shield I ordered one for my sons and it all went just as well. Makes the 1.0 trigger as good or better than the 2.0. I think better.
Only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I was getting light primer strikes with ball ammo. So I went back to the stock striker spring! End of story. 3.6 pound pull what's to complain about!
So, I already have the Apex kit and trigger installed. All I did was change the firing pin spring and polish the firing pin. Out of about 89 shots I got 2 light strikes so I changed the spring back to stock. Could be the mixed parts, not sure. It did feel really nice with those 2 changes.
I installed the kit and performed the polishing just as the video instructed. The work was not hard but took some time. well worth the time invested. 3 lbs off my trigger pull, tighter groups and accuracy. I couldn't be happier.
Excellent results.removing the rear sight was way more difficult than the video showed.was worth it though.i generally shoot he's and sits, and now it rates right up there with them.thanks for another great product.dan
Awsome kit well worth the money highly recommend 5++++ stars.. Fast delivery!! Ty..
Followed the video and had no issues gave it a very smooth lighter trigger
Spring kit made a HUGE difference in my S&W Shield 40 build. Trigger is now crisp, clean with a definite reset point. Install was fairly easy using Youtube videos. Highly recommend MCarbo spring kits.
I found the M*Carbo kit to be extremely easy to install with the video. My pistol has new life and I can feel the difference in the trigger pull/response at reset compared to the original components. I bought my Shield 40 slide assembly via Ebay and changed my 9mm over to the 40 cal. I am ecstatic about the performance difference. My 40 is very controllable and a pleasure to shoot. Thanks M*Carbo.
When I purchased my S&W shield 45 acp it came with a 10-1/2 lb trigger. I needed to do something to reduce the trigger to around 5-6 lbs. After doing some research I found Apex spring kit @ $100. +. and Mcarbo spring kit @ under $30.00. I went with the latter. The video instructions were great except it didn’t include a shield with a safety. It took a little effort to figure that out but all went well. I replaced all springs except the sear spring. I felt that the original spring would be just enough to keep the trigger on the high end of 5 lbs. Once the polishing and springs installed the trigger was right at 7 lbs. I went to the range and put a box a box of ammo through it. The trigger now is a consistent 6 lbs. and crisp . I couldn’t be happier. Why would one pay $100. + added to the gun cost. This is a great kit with great instructions. Only hiccup would be if your shield has a safety.
I have successfully installed the trigger spring kits on various pistol models and have always been happy with the results. When I was ready to do my Shield 45 install, to my dismay, I discovered that there was no installation video available. I was able to complete the install but would have been happier if a video was available like there is for many, many other models. I hope that what I believe is an oversight will be corrected quickly. Thank you and keep providing the excellent products that you offer.
Great spring set works good, buttery for a S&W Trigger. Worth the money
Just finished polishing and installing the Trigger Spring Kit on my latest Shield 9, M2 with built in laser and give the product and process an A+ across the board. The trigger pull weight and smoothness is heavenly and I'm ordering two more spring kits for my other two Shield 9s M1's and expect the same result. Thanks again for the service, product, and quick delivery.
GOOD PRODUCT ***WATCH THE INSTALLATION VIDEO** and keep it on hand during the work. I did it the HARD WAY!! The video for the Shield is on YouTube NOT on the Mcarbo web site. Watched the video once days before starting and just tore apart the pistol and I couldn’t find the video during the job!!! Now I know how to Take down and rebuild the Shield forward and backwards. Don’t forget the separate polishing kit! Well worth the $12.00 or so for it. I don’t have a trigger pull gauge, though the trigger feels much liter, no grittiness and short reset.
What an improvement once the kit went in......Love it
Got my stock shield plus with stock trigger and stock sear down to 3.6 pounds! Yes 3.6 pounds! Couldn't be happier. Ty mcarbo.com.
