As always the kit makes a world of difference. I have an M&P 9 2.0 Compact with factory LE 9lb trigger. After installing the kit trigger pull is around 3.5lbs. No problem there, it flat out works. The install video is another matter, specifically removal of the takedown lever, and the dealing with the extra little lever that the trigger bar engages which engages the sear. I spent many frustrating minutes attempting to remove the takedown lever before searching the web and discovering that on a 2.0 the locking block has to be removed first before removing the takedown lever. Also, the video does not show, or comment on the little red lever adjacent to the sear. Out of the 143 previous reviews maybe someone else brought these things up, but here it is again right on top.
You can not do better for the price than this kit. Especially with the polishing. I did one in my shield and my sons. They were such an improvement I bought one for my full size also.
I went online on a Sunday afternoon and placed an order with M*CARBO for some components for one of my M&P pistols. On Monday morning around 9:30 to check my emails and there was an email informing me that the items I ordered had shipped. Wow! I received them two days later and was anxious to open and inspect them. Quality was superb. Can’t wait to start my trigger project. Chris and his team are professionals providing a quality product at a reasonable price. I plan on ordering other items in the future. Another thing, the video on the M&P pistol is easy to follow plus it is one of the few how-to videos that tells you upfront all the tools and items you need to do the mission.
I just wrote an extensive review, but there was an error when I submitted it and it appears to have been lost. I will sum up my results, as I'm not redoing the entire thing. I started with a decent 4.5 lb pull on my 2.0 5" gun. I hated the hinged trigger so first ordered an Apex trigger with duty carry kit. Installing this improved the trigger, but it actually increased the pull to 5.5 lbs (this is by design for duty/carry kit). I reinstalled the stock trigger return spring and it dropped to 3.5 lbs. I wanted to see how far I could push it though, so ordered the MCarbo kit. Installing all the springs and polishing the internals resulted in an incredible sub 2 lb pull! If I had to do it over again, I would just get the Apex trigger (without the kit) and the MCarbo kit. I think this would result in an amazing trigger for well under $100.
Easy to install after watching the video, nice equipment, makes it feel crisper.

If you like doing things yourself this kit is for you. I installed this kit with some serious polishing, in a M&P9 Pro Series. It truly made a world of difference. This firearm went from one I didn't like to shoot to one of my favorites very quickly. Trigger pull went from 5 to 6 lbs to 2 to 3 lbs and also went from rough to buttery smooth. The video on M Carbo makes it easy to do.
I installed the spring kit in a S&W, M&P 40. Watched the YouTube video(very good) Installation and polishing went smoothly. Cut the trigger pull down to just over 4lbs with a quick and positive reset. Had some trouble with re-assembly when the little plastic guide pin broke.This guide pin should be metal. Made one from a nail and then every thing went together well.
I used this trigger kit on a EAA Girsan MC28SA (M&P clone). The firing pin spring was the only spring I was unable to use because it was a different diameter. Everything else worked great. The "assembly pin" that came with it didn't help for my install, it actually seemed to make it much more difficult and frustrating 🤣. I ended up assembling without it and it was much easier. As usual, good quality kit from Mcarbo.
First shipping was fast, the installation video is very informative. This kit help a 6.5 lb pull to the upper 4s.
This was my first time doing any work on a semi-automatic pistol. I was raised in shooting with revolvers both single and double action in various calibers. The trigger on my 40cal Smith & Wesson M&P was not very good in performance, so I decided to try the M*CARBO trigger kit. The service from the company was excellent and they had all the tools I needed for the installation plus a very instructive video going through the process. Although by M&P was and older model (2011) and some of the parts (striker) were of a different design, all the parts fit properly and worked well. The one difficulty I had was moving the fixed sight which I finally did by placing the slide in a padded vice to secure it. After that it moved easily. I am very happy with performance of the trigger and the decreased pull. My next project will be my J Frame S&W Airweight. Thanks to M*CARBO for their fine products.
Parts arrived in just a few days. Installation was not bad. Nice clean crisp trigger feel. So far so good.
Great price, fast shipping and super instructions. The only slow part was me. I spent about 3hrs and too much of that was getting the rear sight to budge.
