Good video, good product much improved trigger pull! Might like this gun after all.
Installation a little tricky to get the ejector/sear back installed, other than that. shot groups instantly 100% better
I purchased the trigger kit for my Kimber Micro 9 as out of the box it had a 6.5lb trigger pull. I watched the (awesome) install video 3 times before changing it out. After I completed the change, I was a little disappointed that my new pull was only down to 5lbs. Today I went to the range and put 50 rounds of 124 grain range ammo. After getting home and cleaning the gun I put my gauge on it and got a 3.5lb reading 6 times in a row. The gun now has a light and much crisper trigger. Accuracy improved and the gun ran flawlessly. Thanks M Carbo!
I never truly bonded with my Micro 9. It worked, and I liked the size/weight for EDC. But practicing with it was something that I "had" to do, and not something I "wanted" to do because it just wasn't fun like my full size 1911's. I even strongly considered selling it and moving to something else a couple of times. I wanted to love the gun. I really did! But... as a last ditch effort to make the gun more enjoyable I ordered this kit. Wow! the Micro 9 is an entirely new gun! The trigger is much more like it's larger full size 1911 cousins, and I'm even finding better accuracy with the lighter pull weight. As always, the video made installation a breeze! Thanks guys for saving my Micro 9!
I bought the old kit with the two springs, saw that the new sear pin was available. Called in and Jamie took care of me and let me buys just the sear (x2). Came today, put in my main pocket carry and it helped bring the pull weight to about 3lbs! So sweet, will shoot it tomorrow and follow up.
Sear spring makes contact with the ejector limit pin and actually gets ‘stuck’ under it causing tension to be lost on the ejector. Factory sear spring functions flawlessly. Tried emailing the m*carbo ‘help’ Address but no contact after several days. Sure would be nice to see if a replacement fixes my problem... just saying...
I ordered the part within 2 days I got it.Outstanding service,I had it installed by a professional gunsmith. I went from 7lbs.to around 3lbs trigger pull.I highly recommend it.
Never expected a Kimber to be such trash. Dressed the sear, still garbage. Installed this kit, I’ll actually carry this pistol now. Great work!!
Ordered the Kimber spring kit and followed the instructions, it was simple and worked as described.
Just make sure you look for the video that has all 3 parts in it. There is one video that only shows you 2 of the 3 springs.
The trigger on my micro 9 was 6.5 to 7 lbs. gunsmith installed and down to crisp and clean 4.5 which I would not want any less for concealed. Accuracy has improved. The factory trigger was a crisp break but to heavy for my taste at the range and I like to shoot this lil beast!
The CS, shipping, communication and everything having to do with the deal from MCarbo was great. The product on the other hand was a disappointment. I had the same problem as the reviewer from PA earlier and couldn't get the MSH spring on the plunger for anything. After some manipulation with needle nose and another pair of pliers I was finally able to get it on. The pull Weight of the trigger after installation was a total disappointment. The 3.5lb pull advertised for the kit is just not realistic, your not going to get there. I did loose a couple pounds pull from the 8 to 9lbs the trigger was originally, it is very inconsistent especially when your used to doing 1911s that are 4.1 or 4.2 every pull. I also noticed that the 3.5lb claim isn't on the package itself but it is in the add description for the kit, it shouldn't be there in my opinion.
This trigger kit is great. Install was a piece of cake and the instructional video is fantastic. Trigger pull was reduced significantly and everything cycles perfectly. Can’t wait for a chance to get to the range to try it out. Definitely would buy a recoil spring if MCARBO decides to make one! Can’t say enough how much I like this set. Install took ~15 and the result is hands down better than the factory pull.
Video of how to install is spot on, Trigger pull, reset, awesome upgrade,
I recently purchase this upgrade and installed it yesterday. The only slightly tedious bit was the sear spring and sear installation but better lighting and glasses might have helped. The video is awesome and is divided into sections covering the removal/installation of each part. Saying all of that I have not fired it yet but dry firing seems to be quite a difference. Much like my full size Colt 1911. Light and crisp. I highly recommend. Chris
I purchased this spring kit for the Kimber micro 9. M-Carbo had excellent instruction for disassembly and reassembly. I installed the new springs myself with no problems. I do not have a trigger gauge but would have estimated the trigger pull to be about 6lbs originally. I estimate that the trigger pull after installation is approximately 3 lbs. It has made this pistol far more usable for my wife than it was originally. Thank you for a good quality innovative fix to a problem overlooked by the firearm manufacturer.
