Too wide for the latest model LCP. Pops the takedown pin retention spring out of place and pulls the entire frame out rather than releasing the pin. Must remove lower takedown pins to get this out and re-seat the spring, completely defeating the purpose of an upper takedown pin.
Easy to install. Easier to remove than the old one.
This part is not really necessary. The slight improvement over the stock pin is overkill. It's like the difference between a 4" barrel and a 4.1" barrel.
Look at the original pin compared to this new style. Much better quality and design. Peace of mind on less stuff to go wrong.
Inexpensively I exchanged the takedown pin that came with my Ruger LCP with this carbon steel one. It gives me peace of mind knowing that the light weight pin that came with my gun which can break has been replaced with something far more dependable! When choosing which handgun you will use for EDC, it is necessary to consider the level of dependability!
Now I don’t have to worry about that pin breaking
Stronger and a perfect fit on my Ruger LCP. A no-brainer upgrade part.
gives me a strong sense of security that pin will be more reliable and last forever
I was on my second takedown pin before I found this site. The was the perfect upgrade and totally worth money. The old ones had such thin metal that I had broken it just trying to take the gun apart. I highly recommend this as it won’t leave you stranded on the range trying to field strip the gun.
Bought this takedown pin to replace the original pin that was a piece of junk (head broke off). Hardened steel pin with lifetime warranty is hard to beat. Most difficult part of the install was removing the old (broken) pin. 100% better than the original part!
These pins are no better than the stock. I have owned an LCP 2 AND AN LCP MAX. There no difference between the stock pin as fare as retention. I have collected firearms for over 30 years, so I am not a novice to firearms, but just the other day at my father's range my wife was shooting her LCP2. After 3 rounds she said my pin is coming out. I told her to push it back and in and finished the mag. It had walked again. They have never answered an email about complaints or asks them if they have remedied Them. There other companies that make similar parts. Go with them.
There isn't much to say here. I watch a video for MCarbo and replacing this part. It looked simple enough and necessary as I was also concerned about this pin. Part came in and was exactly as described. Installation was also as simple and exactly like the video. My favorite kind of purchase. I was told what I would get and how to install it. No surprises or disappointments.
Being left handed, I can't see when a takedown pin starts to walk out, until it's too late. I ruined a Taurus TCP 38 this way and didn't want to ruin my new Ruger LCP Max, so I purchased this takedown pin. It does snap in better than the factory pin and I have confidence that it will stay in place during use.
This is the pin that Ruger should have made to begin with.
I notice the quality of the parts when I received them. The video made install pretty easy. Will definitely purchase more pieces as they become available
Nice pin, great enhancement for my LCP II as I was always worried about this pin when my LCP pin chipped and had to replace it. Now I don't worry know its secure and won't chip or backout. My LCP II is my primary EDC and I shot it alot.
