Review
Smooth trigger pull when high 9lbs to high 6lbs well worth it.
I purchased the trigger spring kit as well as the firearm & feed ramp polishing kit for a SP-101 in .22 cal. Normally I have a gunsmith do any trigger work, but after watching the online video and reading several reviews, I figured this was something I could do. Unfortunately I do not have a trigger pull gauge, so I can't give numbers as to the pull weight before and after - however the results are significant. From the factory, the pull was heavy and gritty in single and double action. The video was excellent in guiding me through a complete tear-down of the trigger assembly and where to polish what parts. It also showed clearly how to swap the new components, reassemble the revolver and complete a function check. After reassembly, the trigger was noticeably smoother with a lighter pull. Dry-firing was much more stable and easier to keep the sights on target. Can't wait to get out and shoot! Overall - great investment and a fun weekend project!
I learned of the site while watching an outstanding instruction video on Utube. Everything came quickly and as ordered. I strongly support this group and how they package products. Put the gun together in know time using their helpful hints.
.357 SP101. Great detailed video really aided in the disassembly/ reassembly. I was pleased to be able to print the instructions however, it would have been nice to have the polishing portion be included in the print. Tough to stop and start video with Flitz covered gloves. That being said, my DA pull went from 11.4 to 5.7. And the SA from 5.6 to 1.7. Very smooth pull now and did not need any shims for trigger nor hammer. Thanks for great products and for your service.
Let me start by saying I am pleased with every aspect of my first mcarbo experience. The trigger kit combined with the tutorial video are perfect combo for a new comer like myself. Thanks for providing that MCARBO!
I'm on my fifth GP100 (there isn't a good reason...I'm just an idiot) and have done trigger jobs every time. In the past, getting the right springs and shims meant having to find the parts and over order (unnecessary extras). This was the perfect package and as easy to install as could be (as long as you know how to work with a GP100, it's a very simple and forgiving design). I probably could still polish the sear a touch more, but this kit and some polishing worked magic. I have yet to test it on all factory brands. If I have trouble with light strikes, I will post again, but as it is I give this a very positive review coming from a guy with a bit of experience.
Thanks to the excellent online instructions I had no difficulty installing this kit on my first attempt. My Ruger had a great deal of hammer play and would have benefited from more than the 4 shims provided. Some 0.01 shims would be a great option for future development. Trigger feel was greatly improved. Trigger Pull was reduced from 12.5 to 8.5 lbs. Most difficult part of the job was removing the trigger group. It was a very tight force fit in my revolver.
just installed today, fantastic product. thanks for the video great help with all the tips, order the polishing kit, might as well you have it apart, make it perfect. after installation seems like a different hand gun,(ruger sp101). can wait to see how it performs. fast delivery, great product and price, thanks brother.
Easy to install and it works.
I got this spring set for my ruger gp100 357mag.. wow what a difference in the trigger pull.. I did the polishing and spring change. And it really is like a new gun now. Very nice to shoot in double action now
I installed this trigger spring kit on one of rugers custom shop super gp100 9mm revolvers. Along with flitz polishing most of the internals. Factory 9lb trigger this kit brought it down to 6lbs and super smooth. So far only function checked with 8 rounds loaded with cci primers but it set all of them off no problem
I installed on a gp100. The starting DA pull weight was over 12 lbs. After installing all the springs and all it dropped it to about 7lbs. The SA dropped to about 2.5lbs. Very pleased.
beware this install will test your manual dexterity. The video was invaluable and you can't fail following along, that said, he makes it look A LOT easier to do that it really is.
I have done trigger work on single action Peacemaker clones, but this was my first try on a double action. The video was easy to follow and well done. The results were beyond expectation. First, I didn’t lose any parts. I was able to put it back together, and it still worked. Amazing! Even more amazing were the results of the modifications. In double action, the trigger is amazingly smooth and much lighter. Single action is also as smooth and much lighter. There is a touch of take up before the break, but that is negligible. I can’t wait to get out and shoot it.
My gunsmith installed this kit an polished my rugar .... before trigger was horrible felt like sand grinding when ya pull trigger was really bad for a bran new gun but your kit an my gunsmith made a totally different gun It is so smooth an clean now I have never been disappointed in your parts and pieces another awsome upgrade
What a difference! Quick delivery too. I had the springs installed in minutes. The trigger pull was greatly reduced. And the price was very reasonable.
