This kit reduced my trigger pull from almost eight pounds to about four and a half pounds. I would like it to be a little less but mcarbo has me in much better shape than I was in. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a m77 that has a heavy trigger pull. A few of my family and friends have m77/44’s and I will be encouraging them to get this kit.
This kit addresses two of the several issues that the 77/22 and like models have . These triggers from the factory are safe in design as no way to adjust pull weight or sear engagement period so being stuck with uneven surfaces tool marks ect on the trigger and sear as well as a full sear engagement some of these models might not see a huge improvement and some will mine was reduced by 12 oz and was very consistent in the measurements and by polishing the mating surfaces between sear and trigger and removing the rough finish I might have increased the surfaces touching each other causing the lack of reduction in pull weight that some have experienced. With that said the kit does reduce pull weight. In my experience with the wood stocked models the main issue with accuracy with these Rugers has been rifle bedding or lack of , if You doubt this assessment free float the barrel then You will quickly see this as all of the bedding is the barrel touching the barrel channel and no where else as the inletting for the action area is way to generous for the best accuracy
The install was easy just like the instruction video outlined. My results weren't as favorable as the video, but I started with a heavier trigger pull. Overall ordering was easy, shipping was quick, install was as shown.
Easy to install and does what I wanted. Thanks brother love your product and Mcarbo site. From one Army Vet to another thank you for your service. GO ARMY!
Super easy upgrade that made a world of difference. Highly recommend this product.
Got the kit and watched the video. Easy to install but still has about a 4.5 lb trigger pull. Nicely put together kit. Thank you for your service.
I installed these on a 77/22M and a 77/17 HMR. Much better than the factory. Installation was smooth. Used the .001 shim on one and the .002 on the other. Very pleased.
I am very happy with the spring and the Teflon grease. I am not able to use the shims because I have a different bolt. Also, very important is that I feel like my small order to them was like I bought out the store. I was very happy with the price, happy with the way I was treated, and very happy with the time for shipping. Thank You MCARBO.
The spring and shim kit I purchased for a customers M77/22 Hornet, worked and was of good "Made in the USA" quality. I will buy again when the need arises.
great kit did as said
Should have bought this before. Simple and easy to install and does just what it’s supposed to do. Would buy again
Used this in my old m77 mark 2. The description does not specify mark 2 but itbworks. Old trigger pull was 6 lbs this brought it down to 3.5 lbs. significant improvement and perfect for hunting rifle. Cheaper than a Timney trigger by far.
Very experienced reloader and load developer. My 77/357, even after glass bedding to a laminate wood stock, still shot all over the place. The factory trigger surely did not help as it was ridiculously heavy... Then I spent $20 on the shim and trigger kit. My rifle is now a whole different beast. Known loads that shot horribly, now were actually producing decent groups. A bit more load work and I shot a 5 shot group into 1 inch at 100yds, with 4 of the bullets touching! Best $20 spent on this rifle to date. The trigger is now LOVELY!!!
I installed the spring (only) on my 77/22. Factory trigger was almost 5 lbs, this dropped it to 2.75 lbs.
I found the parts to be well packaged. The parts were found to be in proper Manafacturer specifications. I ended up using the .001 shim And no other shims were needed on my rifle. My friend's rifle ended up needing .005 worth of shining. The rifles now shoot the same size groups. The trigger Spring lightened the trigger pole nicely.
