Based upon reviews, and potential 55% reduction, decided to try this option before going with a full trigger kit. For me, it did drop from 5.0lbs to 3.7lbs, which is great for the product cost, but was really hoping for at least 40% reduction out of it. I likely can get there with additional work on trigger. Have not tried shims yet, as bolt is pretty tight as is, but will check further. MCarbo has great communication and customer service. Thanks!

Got my M77 shim and spring kit. Had everything installed and running in 30 minutes. A note for the novices: the shims are used to create solid lock up of the bolt when in battery so just start with a single .001, then go to a single .002, then add a .001 and .002, etc until you get the desired lock up. Mine took a single .002 for the smoothest yet tightest lock up. .003 was just a bit too tight. With the bolt shimmed and the sear spring installed I have a tight, crisp, tolerable pull that is safe but not so darned heavy. Love this kit!

Great stuff

I have a Ruger 77 Hawkeye Compact in .308 Winchester. I ordered the Ruger 77/22 | 77/17 | 77/357 | 77/44 Trigger Adjustment Spring Kit. This was an improvement by all measures. My trigger pull prior measured on a Lyman Trigger Pull Gage averaged 4.2125 pounds. Adding the kit spring alone my trigger pull average was reduced to 3.087 pounds. A reduction of 1.1255 pounds! Sooo much better! The PTFE Superlube added to the sear seem to help too. I bought this after spending $91 on a Rifle Basix "drop in" trigger that was not a good fit and perhaps even, in my experience, unsafe. I reinstalled the factory trigger and added the M*Carbo Trigger kit. Problem solved.

Incredibly easy assembly and great improvement

I installed this spring in a Ruger M77 Hawkeye 7 mm Rem Mag and Ruger Gunsite Scout .308. Both modifications were incredibly easy to install and made a clear difference in trigger pull immediately. As discussed in the installation video, the factory spring has very little play. The MCarbo spring has greater play, reducing the pull significantly. For both weapons, my bolts were different than those described in the video. Neither bolt had the loose issue, discussed in the video. Therefore, I did not install the shims. I look forward to taking both weapons to the range soon!

Inexpensive improvement

Anyone can tell you that Ruger m77/22 bolt bodies have plenty of manufacturing tolerance. This shim kit is absolutely perfect for getting everything dialed in. Mine took .003 worth of the shims. After 100 rounds of testing, I haven't had a single light primer strike (was getting about 5-6 per hundred before), and my 3 shot group size tightened up 3/8 of an inch on average to put them all well under MOA. The lighter weight trigger spring should have been factory. It feels fantastic in comparison. It shaved about 2lb off the pull weight. Thanks MCARBO for improving the quality of my life!

It does lighten the trigger pull

Very inexpensive way to decrease the trigger pull and worth the money. The shims were not needed. This spring does not eliminate the ruger creep, but its not advertised to do so. Wish it were sold without the shims. Much cheaper than a new trigger, however.

It works

I picked up 2 of these kits. One for a m77/44 Carbine and one for a m77 ultralight 243. The 44 was breaking at around 4.5 lbs. once I put the spring in it dropped the weight to under 3.5. Not the 50 percent reduction advertised but I wasn’t expecting to get that much out of just a spring. On the 243 the trigger had been worked previously by me. I had it at 3 lbs. once the spring was installed I went down to and even 2 lbs. Even though I have taken apart several ruger triggers I did watch the installation video and found it to be very straight forward and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend these springs to anyone looking to lighten up the weight of their factory trigger.

It works

I have been wanting to use my Ruger 44 mag for deer hunting but found the trigger pull too hard and erratic for consistency. This trigger kit enables you to drop from almost a six pound pull to a two and 1/2 pound pull. If you own this gun you know what I mean.

I also installed the shim and it now works great. I hope to get back out after thanksgiving and shoot a deer with it.

Just Okay

The kit came quickly and was easy to put in. It did reduce the pull weight but by only 3/4 of a pound or so and that could be due to the small amount of smoothing I did to the engagement surfaces. I didn't need the bolt shims. It did make me address something I needed to so it was probably worth the push but it didn't reduce the pull as much as I had hoped or was stated.

I installed the Ruger M77 kit. It took less than 10 minutes . Very pleased with the result . Slightly over 2 lbs now. Very simple and as good as any professional trigger job I've ever paid for.

I have a 338 mark 2 with a terrible trigger. New complete triggers from other companies cost 130.00 or more.

With this trigger kit, it took me 15 mins with watching the video to replace the spring. My trigger now has no creep, and about 3 lbs. I couldnt be happier. Highly recommend
