Loud...….but does the job. Well made and well worth the money. Neal Smith...Virginia
This piece is awesome! It definitely completes this beautiful firearm. It works to tame the snappy 40 and both recoil and flip are mitigated. I am very impressed and it looks great.
Pretty straightforward install. Do not even think about sticking this bad boy on without a vise and the nifty vise blocks mcarbo boys sell. At least in my case it took a lot of force to center it including counter torque with a 3/4" open end wrench on the sight nut. A LOT. In fact i would recommend holding the sight nut to eliminate some of the force twisting the barrel in the vise.....masking tape protecting barrel kinda slips unless you really crank the vise....I tightened the vise pretty good to the point i was afraid of damaging barrel. Took 10 minutes and no damage. Very pleased and looks very professional.
I received the muzzle break kit within a few days. I ordered the barrel vise locks with it. The vise locks were shorter and not tapered as in the installation video. You should update the video showing the proper placement for the device. Installing the muzzle break was very hard to align properly and resulted in my taking my front sight out of alignment. I ended up having to realign the sight after the muzzle break was on. The product performs well, I notice my grouping of shots have improved greatly. I am not a well practice shooter, so I noticed the improvement right away.
I had a problem with the V-blocks included with the kit. I seems that the blocks I received were different than the ones shown in the installation video in that they did not have the graduated groove cut into them to account for the barrel design. They also appeared shorter than the ones shown in the video, but I have no way of being sure. In order to get the barrel stable enough to put the necessary torque on the brake to tighten it, I had position the blocks squarely on the thicker part of the barrel in order to tighten the vice enough to prevent the weapon from turning. I did not notice any marring of the barrel, but I cannot comment on whether or not there would have been had I used the thinner portion of the barrel to clamp down on. Other than this hiccup, the installation went smoothly.
First let me start by saying I am not an employee of this company.....I do not know anyone that works for this company..... and I'm not being compensated in any way for my review. This is just a fair and honest review and opinion from an ordinary guy just like you. An ordinary guy that is an Army Combat Veteran and 2nd Ammendment Advocate. An ordinary guy that is tired of wasting his hard-earned money on products that are cheap and poorly made and with companies that make false promises and guarantees. Well let me say this......M-CARBO is not one of those companies and I have found their products to be superior in craftsmanship and quality. I have been thoroughly impressed with everything I have ordered and received and installed. The ordering process is top-notch. The shipping is extremely fast and I received everything I have ordered within 3 days and normally 2 days. The videos on the products and installation that Chris has put together are absolutely "phenomenal" and "outstanding"!!! Just watched some of the videos and see how phenomenal and outstanding they are. just don't take a shot or sip of beer every time you hear Chris say phenomenal or outstanding because you won't be on your feet for long. But seriously I started out in intended to only order one part or mod but I have been so impressed that I have ordered many many many products and upgrades. M-CARBO has created something special with there Brotherhood..... with their products.....with their outstanding and superior customer service..... and with their focus on the customer!!! And because of that......M-CARBO has earned a brother and customer for life!!! Keep up the outstanding work brothers....you get it.....and your doing it right!!! "Speed and Power"!!! "One Shot....One Kill"!!!
T2000 muzzle brake is the only modification I made to the T2000, 9mm. Easy installation and the quality of the muzzle brake just enhance the very well made firearm. By the way, the price and customer service can't beat it. Thank you to my brother's from Mcarbo!!
The Kel Tec muzzle brake is a quality made item. Fit and finish are outstanding. The video on installation made the job easy. Good show!
takes half the recoil out of my sub 2000 .40. much easier to stay on target. also! easy to install. if my dumbass can figure it out so can you!
Excelent quality. It looks so good on my sub gen 2 . MCarbo puts out superior build parts not only for aesthetic looks but functional as well. What more could you ask for. Love the fact that a percentage of the proceeds goes to our well deserving heroes. Many thanks to Chris and Team . Keep up the great job. -JT
And i am extremely disappointed. The jaws they sent me did not have the barrel contours (deep and shallow) like the install video showed and as a result, did NOT clamp to my barrel. I tightened the vice extremely tight and it still slipped. Even with tape, it still scarred my barrel badly. After all of that, the muzzle brake would still NOT time correctly...no matter how many time I re-tried to install it. Very poor quality jaw clamps and results. Now I have a damaged barrel and a useless set of defective jaws ans muzzle brake. I guess slow shipping was tge best part of the experience.
If you have a 9mm Sub2000, don't like the stock sights, and want to keep the whole package as compact as possible, do what I did: remove the front sight post, cut ~1" off the barrel and use the 40 cal muzzle brake instead. I use a quality red dot sight so I don't feel the need for backup irons. I also stow my Sub 2000 in a laptop bag and it would not have fit with the additional 1.5" of the 9mm muzzle brake. Just beware that this is makes your carbine into an illegal SBR unless you have the muzzle brake pinned and welded to the barrel. All that said, this is a FANTASTIC upgrade.
The video makes this addition to my Sub 2K so easy! Thanks!
I think they sent me the wrong size vise jaws. They were only 3/4" at most. No matter how tight i made my vise, when thread on the muzzle break, the front site kept turning. I even tried a open end wrench on the nut. Still not enough bite. I got it on the best i could and as tight as it could go and be close to perfect straight as possible, with out spinning site nut. Wish me luck.
Hello, the two-jaw system will not grip onto the barrel no matter how tight I clamp down with my vise, and I tried masking tape the whole bit. Actually, I cracked my vise and had to order a new one. In doing so I can't continue until it arrives. I do not like this system. Also, I'm unable time it just because it just so hard to turn the muzzle brake utilizing your jaw locking system. So, the saga will continue when I get the new vise delivered.
I have found the Mcarbo website to be very easy to navigate and the videos are very helpful. Shipping is very quick. The Muzzle brake appears to be well made and a great addition to my sub 2000. I took off 1 star because installation was not as easy as video shows. Also the piece I ordered to hold the barrel in the vise was not the same as shown in the video. The one I received is much shorter and has only one size internal dimension not 2 sizes to fit the barrel. Not sure if this is why the install was harder. I had the barrel firmly engaged in the vice but it kept turning as I came closer to tightning the brake. I got it to within 1 click of perfectly lining with the site and stopped there to avoid damaging my sub 2000.
