This was my 2nd spring for another Ruger , simple change out and gets the trigger pull to 2 lbs.
This is the best $20 upgrade for a Ruger American. This spring takes all of the guesswork out of replacing the spring with the correct one. Trigger pull is one of the most important things to accuracy and this 10 minute upgrade is definitely worth it. Honestly the price is somewhat expensive for what the spring is really worth but the results pay for itself. I have them in my Gen 1 and 2 of my Gen 2’s and couldn’t be happier
Got 2 springs in about 7 days shipped to Australia great service, fitted one to my 7.62x39, trigger now about 2.8 lbs and it could be lighter with adjustment, will fit other one to my 6.5 grendel soon. great people to deal with excellent product & easy to follow instructions
Watch the install video first I polished the ends of spring a hammer and sear first, then installed Mcarbo spring. Also put drop of M-Pro7 on trigger pin. Pull lbs dropped from 4,5 to 2.3 lbs. Very happy.
I have a Ruger American in .243. The trigger was OK for hunting purposes but I wanted something lighter for target purposes. I was all set to buy a Timney trigger assembly when I ran across the mcarbo in my search engine. When I saw that I could solve my problem for $12.95 versus $125.00, I thought what have I got to lose. I ordered on 9/6 and the spring arrived 9/10, not bad with a weekend in between. I didn't time the install, but the posts that refer to 5 minutes would be pretty accurate. Today I set up a 300 yard range on our farm and started out banging steel and then moved down to bowling pins. The trigger felt great and any mishits that I would normally have due to jerking the trigger were alleviated. Thanks Mcarbo!
