This was the best thing I could do to make such a huge difference in the Mini 14 trigger pull. The cost was nothing compared to the results you get. It was so easy to install and the video was such a big help. It was easy to find on the web site, to order and I received it within a few days. Thank You!
Love my mini 14. But wanted smoother trigger. The new spring has made it much better. Product came very fast and video of installing spring was very helpful. Great customer service is great. Thanks again.
So I have installed a couple of these. Mini-14 580 series went from 4.75lb. to 4.25lb. Mini-14 187 series went from 5.25 to 4.80lb. Mini-30 584 series went from 5lb. to 4.5lb. As you can see the best they have done is 1/2lb. Also I have installed the ASI springs in a Mini-30 and a Mini-14 which is did nothing at all, so these are better than the ASI spring. While these do help, IMO they cost twice as much as they should.
This was very easy to install using the video on the website. It took the trigger from a gritty 5 1/2 lbs. to a very smooth 3 1/2 lbs. which for me is perfect for this rifle. I couldn't be happier.
I installed the spring and it lightened the trigger squeeze significantly. My only issue was that the squeeze was still gritty. I then applied fine valve grinding compound on the sear/hammer interface and safely dry fired the trigger group about 125 times. I then disassembled , cleaned and lubed the trigger group and had a very nice trigger.
The MCARBO installation video is excellent. The take down and OEM spring removal was quick and easy. The MCARBO spring dropped into place as well as the bushing. The challenge was getting the trigger return spring ends to locate in the proper place. The trigger must fit correctly against the safety plate. Everything fell into place after a few try’s, The Mini 14 is not known as the most accurate rifle Ruger makes but the MCARBO trigger spring goes a long way to help.
I used my Wheeler non-digital trigger pull scale. Factory was 4-5/8 - 4-3/4. After the spring install it is 3-3/4 - 3-7/8. Definitely lighter and smoother! I give it a thumbs up for such a inexpensive easy install!
Very happy with this kit. Trigger pull reduced by over two pounds on my pull gauge. All that horrible creep is gone. Straight forward installation. Just be sure to have correct tools. It’s easy and it works just like M Carbo promised.
I received the product on time. Watched the install video again and it took less than 30 minutes to install. New trigger pull is just as advertised. Great product and price.
I bought this kit because I thought it would be a happy medium from doing a full trigger job as I was just really looking to take off some of that gritty feel. Yet still have a "service/duty" trigger feel as that is what I personally prefer. This fit the bill perfectly. Prior to install my average trigger pull was 6.25lbs and gritty. After install it is now averaging 5.00lbs and is noticeably smoother and lighter. For me the reduction and "smoothing" factor was perfect for my needs. Thanks MCARBO for an excellent product at a great price.
Perfect trigger pull reduction for My Mini 14! As stated before..the instructional video is concise, & Professionally done, straight to the details & a no BS approach. While our weather hasn't allowed me to do any precision shooting, the 25 rounds I put down-range the day I put the spring kit in was convincing enough that I'd done the right thing by purchasing this from you guys! I was hesitant to buy this for the price. $19?? I’ve worked up a load for my Mini 14 with great success but knew the trigger is holding my groups back. Replacement t triggers are not to be found. I stumbled into this product and bit the bullet and paid the $18.90 spring/shipping cost. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I have drop tested this gun many times (on the butt end only) this spring works! So far has been reliable and safe. Safety has to be the number one goal in firearms. I am confident this spring is safe. I have not shot this gun/spring combo yet due to wind but have dry fired many many times and cannot believe what a difference it made. I own a few different fire arms. Have glass bedded most. Own a couple Timneys and am impressed with this upgrade. Yes I have glass bedded this 195 series Mini 14 as well with great results. It’s MOA and I believe this spring will give me a tighter group once the wind dies down. Don’t hesitate when accuracy counts! Coyotes beware!
I am a retired gun smith and MSG, for you non Army people, E-8. Picked up the mini 14 on a whim, 5.5 lb trigger, replaced the spring and now have a 3.5 lb pull. Great product, fast shipping. Great job guys, love what you do for the country, keep it up. Tom G.
Installation was easy and it made a noticable difference in trigger pull. I estimate trigger pull went from around 7lbs to around 5-5.5;.after the spring installation.
What a wonderful improvement. Groups are tighter than ever. Crisp feel, no grind, no sticky feel. Least expensive way to make a Mini better.
