For $20 you get a custom trigger job
Replaced the issue springs in my TC Compass as they were way too heavy even when adjusted. The new springs are wonderful! I found the "Hunting" spring a little on the heavy side, but the "Bench Rest" spring is perfect! Should I want to make it a little heavier, I can always reinstall the issue nuts, but see no reason to. I highly recommend this!
The kit came just like it should’ve. Had all the parts. It lighten the trigger pull some. The same kits I’ve gotten for savage axis rifles worked better. The t/c compass kit didn’t . It maybe the stupid counterweight they put on the trigger at T/c I don’t know for sure
Easy to install and reduced trigger to 1.5 lbs
Installation was easy... Selected benchrest main spring. Really impressed on how it tighten up the grouping. Very satisfied. Thank you MCARBO.
Video on the website was spot on. Excellent instructions. The springs dropped my 6+ lb trigger to just under 2.5 lb Great product. Very happy With it!
First off, the shipping was very fast, no complaints there. The assembly video was very good, better than most. The kit itself was a little bit of a letdown. Stock the Compass was 5.5 to 5.75 lbs with a Wheeler spring type pull gauge. I put in both the hunting and the benchrest springs and the gauge read about 4lbs. I reused the stock trigger spring and screwed one of the nuts back on and got 2.5 to 3lbs. I had to use one of the nuts as the stock spring is shorter than the M Carbo springs. I'm happy with the overall result. It's just no where near the 1.4 lbs as stated on the video. Still glad I got the kit.
I used the hunting spring, and the kit significantly lowered my trigger pull. Also checked that the rifle is still drop safe, dropping it from 6-18" on concrete onto the butt while the safety was off. There were no issues, appears to be dropsafe, and the trigger is so much better. With the factory trigger set to the lowest factory pull, I was moving my point of impact from the effort of pulling the trigger, but now that appears to have been safely solved.
Factory trigger pull-5.5#, could not be adjusted lower. After MCARBO spring kit-3.5# with Hunting spring. Very easy to install using the video. Just for belt and suspenders, I added a drop of nail polish on the underside the overtravel adjustment screw, in addition to the Loctite shown in the video.
Purchased this trigger spring kit and was very happy, shipping was quick, the installation video was spot on, and the results were excellent! Thanks guys, great product!
This is my second spring kit I ordered for this model rifle, the first was for my 300 wm and the second for my nephews 7mm-08. Works great on both rifles.
My TC Compass 6.5 Creed was new and unfired. Trigger was 5 lbs pull from factory and gritty. I punch paper only, so bench or bags...I prefer my pull in ounces! I wanted to try this spring kit just because it is inexpensive and well regarded. Did I expect 'ounces', NO...I was hoping for 1-2 pounds. I got ~3 pounds. Not bad and within the range they advertised. I think if I shoot it for a while it may settle down to 2.5 pounds? I will likely pull the trigger group later and do some polishing to see if I can get to 1.5 pounds. If I wanted ounces in this I would likely have to spend some real dollars. I DO recommend this spring kit....hope in the future they can come up with a set/solution to get me under 1 pound....safely. Gary, US Army 1965-1971
The factory trigger had to be at least 12 lb and adjusting the nuts did not really improve the trigger. With these springs (hunting) the trigger is a reasonable 4 lbs. There is a little creep (very little) since this is for a hunting rifle it will work just fine.
I don't own a gauge, but the difference is absolutely noticeable. This upgrade is a necessity.
Installed just like the video. Took my time. Installed another for a friend and he agrees a great improvement. Recommend adding the PFT greese
