Q: What would you say is gained by replacing the secondary spring and the sear spring versus merely replacing the main trigger return spring?

A: The T/C Compass Trigger Spring Kit is designed to work without the adjustment nuts since the trigger pull we be at the lightest setting. We are also including 2 main trigger return spring options that will allow target shooting or hunting rifle setups. It's an overall combined trigger pull reduction. Making it a safer and better feeling trigger pull reduction.

Q: I have heard various people say that they practiced a drop test after using the other aftermarket spring, but it is hard to make sense of what exactly a "safe" drop height for a rifle in the "Fire" position is. Do you have any thoughts on this? How different would a TC Compass with your trigger kit respond to a drop test than any other common rifle with a good trigger?

A: Our drop test is from 6" on hard concrete and then from 12" onto a rubber mat. Testing the trigger each time to make sure it didn't fire.

Q: Is there anything fundamentally trickier about the TC Compass/Winchester Model 70 trigger than any other trigger as far as safety and trigger pull harmony goes?

A: TC made a voluntary recall on their rifles to fix the trigger. They received too many complaints that it would not pass a minimal drop test. In an effort to fix what they already had they added the counterweight and another trigger return spring.

Great improvement to the T/C Compass

Bought a T/C Compass in 2017 for the grandkids to use but I never really liked the rifle because of the poor stock trigger. Online research at the time didn't provide any options that sounded safe. Recently learned about MCARBO kit and went ahead based on positive reviews. Very glad I did. Rifle now has a crisp 2-2.5 lb trigger using the bench rest spring option. (I tried the hunting spring option that came in the kit but thought it was still too heavy.) the online MCARBO installation video was easy enough to follow that my grand daughter and I easily completed the swap with no problems. I tried my own drop tests after the swap with no problems. I would definitely recommend the kit for those not happy with their factory Compass trigger.

T/C Compass trigger spring kit

Rating:
Pros:
Cons:
I purchased and installed this kit in my T/C 6.5 Creedmor. The trigger was advertised as adjustable and 4 1/2 lbs. I "adjusted" the factory trigger as low as it would go and it was in the 5 lb range avg. After installing the M*Carbo trigger kit I am now pulling about 2 lbs 6 ozs. (Average). The accuracy in the 200 + yard range is unbeleivably different. My groups shrunk an average of 2 1/4". I am consistently shooting groups in the 1 1/2" range at 200 yards everytime. I recommend this product to anyone who is experiencing accuracy difficulties on the range with their T/C Compass.

Best trigger improvement on the market!

Searched for a trigger pull weight reduction online and found this one. Watched the video on installation and figured I could do it no worries. I ordered my spring kit and it came very fast. It also contained a couple sweet stickers, which I thought was a great touch. I installed the springs in about 10 minutes (taking my time) and took my TC compass in 6.5 Creedmoor to the range. I printed .4 MOA at 200 yards with my rifle. This is normal performance for the rifle, but it was so much easier to squeeze the rounds onto the target with such a light and crisp trigger! Don't wait, you won't regret it if you have a TC Compass and you are hoping for a nice and AFFORDABLE trigger. Not to mention made in USA by Veterans, and it has a no hassle warranty-forever. Note: I bought the Super Lube too, it's worth every penny. Plus there will be enough Super lube left over for years to come and/or at least 12 more trigger jobs. I also found that a 1/16th inch punch from my MSR build tool kit was the magic tool for the job, not to mention the only tool needed. Thanks MCARBO.
