One of the main reasons I bought this, besides the recoil reduction, is to protect the spring and bolt group a little each shot. My thought is that this will prevent the bolt group from slamming into hard plastic, and lessening the compression of the spring each shot. I am planing on shooting my sub-2000 a lot, so I felt it was a cheap way to keep it functioning a little longer. Their was a noticeable recoil reduction, but obviously their is still felt recoil. I did find I was slightly quicker to get the gun back on target after each shot. The sub-2000 doesn't have a lot of recoil to begin with, but I still felt it was worth it to reduces it some more. I didn't observe any issues after shooting 100 rounds with this part installed. No failure to feeds, or failure to extracts. I was able to lock the bolt back with no issue. The part had no signs of damage, and their was no apparent signs of debris from the recoil buffer in the rifle. Only thing negatively I could say about this part is that there is some excess material on one side of the buffer. This didn't appear to effect the function of the rifle, so it seems that this is only an aesthetic thing. This part is not visible outside the rifle, so I didn't care about this.
Ordered 2,1 for gen1 and 1 for gen2. Gen2 functions great but on my gen 1 the bolt won't retract enough lock open.
I installed the recoil buffer after watching the installation video. I also installed the recoilless charging handle at the same time. There was definitely a noticeable softer felt recoil. The way I see it, if both items will reduce felt recoil, spend a few extra bucks and get the benefit of both.

If youre considering doing anything to your Kel tec this and the bolt tube cover are a must have. I honestly think the recoil was reduced by half,and the noise of the bolt was decreased substantially. Shipped fast and tier 1 customer service. Proud to have joined the Mcarbo brotherhood

I have the sub2k gen 2 40cal and I wasn’t expecting much from this, but it was inexpensive enough to try it. Now I haven’t received he recoilless charging handle yet bc I just ordered it, but this little recoil buffer is impressive. Reduces felt recoil quite a bit imo, much easier to stay on target for follow up shots. Would recommend this highly
This is probably the biggest upgrade you can do to the gun. When I first bought the sub2000 it felt like it kicked about as hard as an sks. After cleaning the gun I realized there is a giant reciprocating metal sausage link inside tube that bounces off the back. This part probably increases the life span of a sub2000 and seems like it should have come with the gun by default. The gun still kicks a bit, but it has gone from a sharp jab to a soft bounce.
Easy to install and a small improvement in felt recoil. Works as advertised.
I dropped this in with the heavy charging handle. The combination definitely helps steady the gun.

My S2K Gen2 is chambered in 9mm and IMO recoil is very tame, even with the blowback design of the firearm. I installed the recoil buffer more for longevity of the firearm as it mitigates parts wear, but was pleasantly surprised to feel a noticeable difference in "felt" recoil after install. Win/Win for a $10 upgrade and 5mins of your time.....
