Night and day difference. This was a friend's gun, but it went from him not happy with it to being excited to shoot again. HUGE difference in the shot grouping!
I cant really right a review, because I still haven't received my spring kit that I have ordered over 2 weeks now, and its now in the middle of hunting season here in Florida. Thank God I have more than 1 gun.
I have a Axis and I installed a Timney trigger. Love it, it cost me $120.00 and they can be complex to install and adjust so the gun operates safely. Bought this kit. 15 minutes to install, nothing to adjust. Just fired both guns at range, you can hardly tell the difference. Plus, the two springs allowing the option of 2 1/2 lb. or 3 1/2 is great.
I don’t write reviews but this product blew me away. Super easy install. True to advertised spring weight. Made the trigger less sloppy side to side and though pull. Fantastic product. Every save I own will have this now
This is by far the easiest and best upgrade available for a Savage Axis without accutrigger I hated the trigger pull on my Savage now after the installation of this very affordable upgrade I absolutely love the gun my shot placement is so much better with this new trigger upgrade I would recommend this to anyone who owns and Savage Axis!
After watching the well detailed installation video. The install was a breeze. Would recommend to anone with a savage axis rifle.
I bought this for my son's Savage Axis Compact. It works like a dream and was easy to install. The best part is the M-Carbo team. They ship supper fast and send you multiple emails asking if you received the product. They also send you installation instructions and ask if you have any questions. You can tell that they care about their products and customers. I highly recommend them.
Trigger is easy to install. My trigger was pretty good from box. No real side to side travel and crisp but heavy. Now it is 3 lbs or lower. The Savage wears a Vortex II crossfire with weaver high rings. At 25 yards already on paper: 2 inches right; 1 inch low. Three shots to move later it is perfect for windage and an inch high at 25 yards. Not sure where I will zero, but most pick 100 yards and use their dots to hold over or under. Like the forum. Would like to read more love letters between Navy and Marines.
As if the title were not enough of an explanation; the fact here is simple. Most of my military career I was assigned additional duties as all of us were. One of my duties was Unit Armorer, in other words I was responsible for the maintenance and replacement of the weapon systems and rifles and extra equipment for my units. This is a huge step above quality and gives any basic shooter the chances to be a better shot if it will apply to their equipment. Absolutely Love this! Savage Axis Pro Trigger kit! I HAVE 40+YRS. OF CREATING "HOT-ROD RIFLES & 1911 PISTOLS" & THUS CAN SPEAK FROM THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF BENCH-TIME !!!! MY NEPHEW RECENT PURCHASED A NEW "SAV. AXIS" LONG ACTION IN .30-06 SPRG. & HAD SOME SERIOUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FEEL & PRFORMANCE OF THE FACTORY TRIGGER. I CONFIRMED THAT THE RELEASE WT. WAS 6.0 LBS. & LOADED WITH LOTS OF GRITTY PRE-TRAVEL (CREEP) & SO HE LEFT HIS RIFLE WITH ME. CONTACTED "M*CARBO" & DECIDED TO ORDER ONE OF THEIR SPRING KITS FOR THIS PARTICULAR RIFLE. WHILE WAITING FOR THE ORDER TO ARRIVE, I DETAIL STRIPPED THE TRIGGER GROUP, DETERMINED WHERE ALL OF THE "ARTICULATING CONTACT POINTS WERE" & PATIENTLY POLISHED EACH SURFACE TO A 1500 GRIT FINISH & COMPLETED THE TASK WITH MY DREMEL TOOL, HARD FELT POLISHING BOB, & FLITZ METAL POLISH. WHEN THE KIT ARRIVED, I DID THE INSTALL, ADJUSTED EVERYTHING, USED THE 2.5 LB. SPR. & LUBED EVERYTHING WITH DABS OF "ROYAL PURPLE ENG. ASSEMBLY LUBE" & REASSEMBLED. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED ???? THE TRIGGER PRESS WT. MEASURED 1.5 LBS. HAD ZERO CREEP, ZERO OVER-TRAVEL, & PASSED THE "LARGE RUBBER HAMMER" TEST AFTER REPLACING THE BARRELED ACTION BACK INTO THE STOCK---OMG WHAT A RADICAL IMPROVEMENT THIS WAS-------OORAH & SEMPER-FI !!!!!!!
I love these kits. A five minute job and people think you put in a custom trigger. I pick up Axis rifles all the time for real cheap because of the trigger and then use the kit and have a real shooter on my hands. Some of the newer ones I have trouble getting both washers in. But one is normally enough to get it tight.
If you want an awesome trigger on your savage Axis, this kit will make your trigger smooth an light.
This is exactly what your looking for! This kit makes you bust through walls because all you say is OH! YEAH! But in all seriousness the price is right the instructions are easy to follow and you get exactly what is advertised!
I installed this kit in a Savage Axis XP chambered in 350 Legend and was BLOWN AWAY! The factory trigger was a crisp 8 lb. 2 oz. (average) I installed the 3.5 lb. spring and shims from this kit at it is now 3 lb. 4 oz. (average) and has ZERO side-to-side slop in the trigger. This kit is AMAZING! It took me less than 5 minutes to install it. I live/hunt in Wisconsin and with cold fingers and my kids using the rifle to hunt, would not want to go any lighter for the sake of safety. My hat's off to this USA company for making a great kit that can turn a budget rifle into a real shooter! I will recommend this kit to anyone I know that has an Axis or non-AccuTrigger Savage rifle!
I had reduced my trigger pull by modifying the OEM spring, but this kit does it the correct way and also with the shims takes out the side to side trigger movement. Worked very well.
