I don't know why an Axis owner wouldn't buy and install this product. All of the "DIY" trigger-mods out there on the interwebs (that I've seen) are a waste of time, totally sub-par, janky as ****, lazy, and amateur at best. 20 bucks... 20 bucks and you change your entire experience with the rifle in a must-have way.
I bought one of these a few years ago and installed and all was good. I got a Savage Axis (Not II or Accutrigger ) in 400 Legend. I went to install this Trigger kit and was going fine till I went to add the Overtravel Screw and ran into a issue. The hole to Install is not threaded! Not sure if factory changed or this is some escape but tapered spring just sits in hole under tension. I have tried to drill and tap the hole myself but I was unable to drill out with a Cobalt bit in a hand drill. So trigger must be of a very hard metal now (maybe why they are no longer tapping). But now I have to work around the overtravel screw (nothing to hold kit spring as not tapered) to make my kit work. I would not have ordered if I had known this.
As the title says, however in this case I am impressed. Took me about 5 - 10 minutes to the install and boy what a heck of a difference. I originally installed the 2.5lb spring and thought way too light for me so swapped it out for the 3.5lb spring and I was happier with that. A wee tip for anyone buying this kit in the future, to remove the e-clip, use a small flat head screwdriver with a magnetic tip and the e-clip will stick to it and won't fly off never to be seen again. 5/5 bullets for this product
Description stated 3.5-2.5lb spring option. after installation of the springs I showed 1.75 & 2.25lb pulls. I stuck with the 2.25lb pull and will keep it but not what I expected. Easy to install and worth the money. I have purchased several items from Mcarbo they are all very good quality and easy to install. Will buy from again.
I ordered this kit about a week ago and recieved it yesterday. The installation was extremely easy with the video tutorial. The trigger now has less wobble and is noticeably lighter. For 20 dollars, the value is just right. Customer service seems to be among the best in the industry.
Bought a Savage Axis to coyote hunt with. Like the rifle, hate the factory trigger. Hard for me to hold the crosshairs on target a pull the 7# trigger. A friend bought his grandson a axis a couple years ago, his grandson couldn't pull the trigger, we cut one ring off of the factory spring, it helped but the trigger is still to hard to pull. I started looking for something better and found MCARBO. I put the pro kit on my rifle and the trigger pull went from 7# to 4#. I now have a rifle I can shoot. Just ordered 2 more kits, one for the friends grandsons rifle, and one for another friends coyote rifle. We have a coyote problem on our hunting lease, I think we can now work on that. One more thing the trigger now pulls straight back thanks to the pro kit shims, no more trigger wobble. If you have a Savage Axis in your safe that you don't shoot very much, put one of these pro kits on it. They are fun to shoot.
If you're still reading reviews just stop reading and click buy now. This kit took 10 mins or less to install, and completely transformed my trigger. The shims completely eliminated any play in the stock trigger, and with the 1.5 lb spring adjusted with the travel screw, this garbage stock trigger is not just acceptable but enjoyable. Fast shipping and someone from the company even followed up with me to make sure my order went well. This product and company rocks.
After my research I decided my oldest daughter’s first hunting rifle was going to be a Savage Axis youth in .243. At site in she was hitting a 8” pie plate at 100yds that for a 9 year old thought was good to go. Later she made a comment that the trigger was so hard to pull, with that I ordered your trigger kit, installed the 2.5lb spring and her grouping went down to a $0.50 piece! She loved it and has harvested many PA deer over the years. My second daughter, one niece and four nephews followed with their own .243 Savage Axis and I’ve installed your trigger kits in every one of them. The following results I believe were attained with the huge help of MCARBO trigger kits. In total: 16 Bucks from a spike to a few big 10’s and one big boy gross green scoring 158” 20”x20 points and 8 doe.
Bought this for my savage 93R17 but found that it only will work on the accu trigger that already is adjustable.
I ordered this item hoping that it would make that awful trigger just a little better. Well it didn't make it a little better it make it a lot better. Factory trigger weight was around 5.5-6 lbs and the trigger pull was very poor. I installed the MCarbo trigger kit and my trigger pull is now 1.5-2lbs and Very smooth I love it thx guys great job
Awesome product, my Axis went from 6.4 pounds down to 3.1 pounds of trigger pull.... Totally AMAZED and content with my Axis now....
Wow, what change in the stock trigger. Customer was thrilled. Now I am looking at my personal firearms and seeing what triggers I need to fix. ;)
Easy install watching installation video. Love the feel with smooth action and no side to side trigger play. Very happy with this upgrade
Having an adjustable trigger does not solve all and this kit makes the trigger 100xs better.
Received this yesterday (1/11/21) and installed it, straight away. Super easy to install, especially after watching the video. Took me longer to gather the parts than it did to install. Cut the pull in half, at least, got rid of the wobble and the creep after the break. Great job, M*Carbo!
Inexpensive way to upgrade your Axis trigger. Super easy to install. Range results improved drastically.
