KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Recoilless Charging Handle
Designed to reduce felt recoil due to the blowback design of the SUB-2000. The heavier charging handle slows down the blowback momentum and decreases the felt recoil. The factory charging handle weighs 1oz and the KEL TEC SUB-2000 Recoilless Charging Handle weighs 3.2ozs, effectively reducing felt recoil by 68%! This is a fast and easy way to reduce felt recoil on your SUB-2000 while also providing a thicker diameter charging handle to provide more surface area for a more solid grip when charging and operating the bolt on your SUB-2000.
We've also Engineered a Heavy Duty Internal Lock Up feature to resist wear or breakage to account for the extra weight on the charging handle.
Just for comparisons sake, KEL-TEC offers a Heavy Weight Bolt but it weighs 14.4ozs! That's a ton of extra weight and not ideal for a small, lightweight pistol caliber carbine like the SUB-2000.
Upgrade your charging handle and reduce your felt recoil at the same time! No need to add a ton of weight to your SUB-2000 to reduce the recoil. Add just the right amount to put the recoil in check!

I agree with most of the others, I would have paid more to replace the complete recoil spring, than tackle that again. You could even charge for a "core charge type fee" to return the original recoil spring after getting the new already installed locking pin. I WONT tackle that again. Fortunately, I did this spring FIRST, so the rest was easy peasy. I am in my mid-50 and my M-A-N strength is not what it used to be, so replacing the locking pin was a freaking nightmare. Just compressing took some creative compressing with some wooden jigs pre-drilled. The HAS to be another option. It is NOT as easy as your video shows. The heavier charging handle is AWESOME bu that stupid "Tool-Less Locking Pin" install is something else! Don't do it unless you have three arms and three hands.
Not only will this be an easier pull over the standard charging handle, but the weight of this handle will slow the bolt down and reduce your felt recoil. Combine this with other recoil reducing parts and it will be a night and day difference.
Very happy with the product but it is a pain to install.
Great product that makes the gun easier to function than with the very lite handle that comes from the factory! Easy install process!
If there was any one modification to make this the one. The OEM charging handle is painful to use due to the lack of surface area and since this makes it easier to charge you can load the weapon quietly which may be life or death.
I purchase the charging handle and watched a video on installation that Chris explains in detail I’m very happy with my purchase I will definitely be buying more parts for my sub-2000 …thank you mcarbo
got the spring compressed ok, but the cap fell off and had a difficult time lining it up again with the new pin cap.used a gorilla hook to finally compress the top spring down to line up the holes on pin. phew!!!
To many of our brothers are spending hours trying to mount the spring to the new pin. I did the same. Your own forums have such a simple method that you need to highlight. PLEASE! Save all these vets and there now fucked up fingers. Place the Allen wrench thru the internal loop like video shows. Then simply hold Allen wrench and spin the spring. Compresses the spring waaaaaaay more then your method ever will and it’s simple. Please please please highlight this method. It’s a great product now save fingers!
I have purchased this upgrade already and in the process of trying to install the new charging handle, I didn't get the new locking pin secured properly and now am having a very hard time installing the locking pin. In my struggle, I've lost both original spring end caps. I consider myself normally adept at doing things like this, but I really screwed up this time. I am a Vietnam Patrol and Sentry Dog Handler Veteran and a strong supporter of Veteran business's. Any suggestions, can I purchase the spring with the improved charging handle upgrade.?
Hello Timothy, we do not sell the recoil spring with locking pin preassembled, however, you are welcome to send your locking pin and recoil spring to us to complete the install for $35, which covers the cost of return shipping via USPS First Class. You may be able to purchase the end caps from Kel-Tec as these are not parts we carry for resale.
can i use this with the recoil buffer
Good day, Brother!
You indeed can use these together.
