Great for XPR too

I ordered this for my son’s Winchester XPR. The trigger assembly is very similar except it’s made onto the action. It is not removable. That made the install a little more difficult for the sear spring but overall it wasn’t too bad. Dropped from almost 5lb down to right over 3lb!
Great Product!
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
The short: The product works as advertised and cut my trigger pull weight by half. Watch the YouTube video first, and then give it a shot. It is not terribly difficult. Also! Make sure you put your action/barrel back in the stock before trying to measure trigger pull (more on that below). Follow the video to a "T" and you WILL have good results.

The long: Upon first installing the spring, I found no decrease in trigger pull weight when I measured the pull of the trigger with the action separated from the stock. I took it apart and reassembled it 3 times and got the same results (4.5-5.5# pull, the same as before I exchanged the springs). I called MCarbo and spoke with their gunsmith and he told me that this was the 1st time he had ever heard of an issue with this kit. Kudo's to MCarbo, they immediately sent me a new kit to replace the first.

At this point, I was frustrated but happy that they were doing their best to rectify the situation. At this point I figured I would reassemble the rifle and stash it away until the new spring arrived. Upon the full assembly completion, I tried the trigger pull again. 2.75#! I tried again, 3#, and again and again...The kit worked!

I am not sure why but when the stock was off, the trigger pull was much heavier. When assembled to the stock, it worked as advertised.

All this to say, follow the video and you will get great results. Great product, great company, would definitely recommend to anyone with a post 2008 Winchester Model 70!
Trigger Spring

Factory spring was almost 6 pounds, first spring I ordered from M Carbo brought it down to 4 1/2 pounds called M Carbo and received good customer service, got another spring which brought it down to 3 1/2 pounds and then installing this spring on my favorite hunting rifle I am very pleased with the trigger now. I gave four stars only because I had to install it twice. Very customer service and will be doing business with M Carbo in the future.

I have a Winchester Model 670 in .243 that had the factory trigger setup. I was ordering a spring kit for my S&W M&P Shield .40 so I ordered this spring at the same time, I cleaned up the trigger mating surfaces with a hard Arkansas stone. (just enough to remove the rough surfaces) After installing the spring per the video instructions the trigger pull is MUCH improved. I don't have a trigger pull gauge but the reduction is very noticable, probably about half of what it was. I was able to adjust overtravel from the factory 1/8" (approx) to just a hair over nothing. What a great improvent to my rifle!!
The delivery time was fast, communication on my order was stellar (with even a follow up e-mail to make sure all was good) Very glad I found M-Carbo!!

With the original trigger pull between 6.5 and 7 lbs, I figured the M-Carbo kit would improve this old Winchester 70 in .270!
Indeed,
I followed the easy, detailed video.
And I did a little polishing of some parts with some Flitz (my preferred buffing polish as I rebuild old vintage motorcycles on the side).
I dropped the pull to approximately 2.3 lbs and she’s right at MOA.
In a word:

Very nice fix for an old, old problem
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
My father bought a model 70FW for me when I was 14 in 1962. I've always thought it was capable of more accuracy than I could get from it but for the really heavy trigger. I looked at a number of more expensive options before running into this one and thought 'how could I go wrong for $12?' I was both a pistol and rifle competitor over the years and I think I know what a really good trigger should feel like. The M70 now breaks somewhere between 1.5 and 2lbs, about like my High Standard target auto, only with zero movement. The M70 now has a really good trigger, a shade under a top-flight target gun, to be sure but far better than most modern hunting rifles. I am very pleased.
One thing concerning the video: when adjusting a nut, any nut, use the proper size wrench...not pliers...NEVER pliers...just don't. My dad spent most of his life as a pro mechanic and this was one of his pet peeves...and mine.

I heard about this sight, from a follow shooter, watched the video, looked up reviews no one had anything bad to say. Shipping was fast, great commination. Spring kit is good quality, videos good. Well done guys thanks. Dropped the pull down to about 2.5 -3 pounds and took up the little creep that was there. Sub MOA @ 56.5 gr.
