Try to imagine the sick feeling of an everyday carry gun that can only shoot one or two bullets before it jams and is hard to clear. That is the state of my Ruger LCP Max after installing the M*Carbo trigger, spring kit, takedown pin, guide rod, and recoil spring. I used the 10lb spring. I followed the videos very carefully. I used all the right tools, and dry firing is smooth. It is more accurate than before, but out of 9 attempted rounds, 3 failed to load all the way into the chamber, and one was seated in the chamber, but the hammer was not cocked. I had to drop the mag to clear the three that jammed on the ramp.
All of the upgrades M-Carbo makes for the LCP Max are worth every penny and then some - there is simply no comparison between a factory LCP Max and one which has been M-Carbonated. If you’re on the fence, just do it. As others have said, I suggest using the 12lb hammer spring. The 10lb spring makes for a lighter a trigger pull than I like to have for a pocket pistol, and rarely caused a light strike (only on loads with particularly hard primers - the majority of loads I tested worked 100% of the time). The 12lb spring is right on the money - smooth every time and no issues, ever. Another great set of offerings from M-Carbo.
I had contacted M*Carbo on Dec 29th with the issue of the wrong trigger spring. They contacted me Jan 13th to address the issue. The correct spring is being shipped. This is the first M*Carbo kit that I have had an issue with. I have most of the KelTec Sub2000 kits already installed. Since I have to tear the gun apart again, I also ordered the flat trigger kit for a shorter pull.
Installed as easily and simply as all the other lcp kits that I have installed for myself and several other people. Just as I expected, I got the same great results ! Thank you for another great product!
Went in very easy. Used the 12lb spring as it's my carry gun. WATCH THE VIDEO can't stress this enough. It makes life a lot easier. O ya and get the trigger also you will love it.
Installation of the spring kit and flat trigger was easy with the video. Much lighter using the 10# spring, haven’t test fired it yet but will soon.
I installed this at the same time as all other available springs and trigger, and together, they really brought the pistol up to another level. It's easier to control which adds to my confidence. Install was pretty easy with their videos and instructions; all in, it took less than half an hour. I chose the 12# spring just incase I get a hard primer. My range has steel targets set up at 15-18 yards, and I can easily put all 12 rounds on a 1/3 torso with half second splits.
Reduced the trigger pull on my LCP Max by approximately one pound that using the 10lb spring, I retained my previously installed Sigurd short throw trigger from Galloway. Certainly not a target quality pull but significantly better than the trigger as delivered from Ruger. No problems functioning after installation following the online video and now feel comfortable carrying this when riding my bike.
