Easy install and worked great
Comes with everything you need to add some much-needed rigidity to the cheap factory handguard of the Axis. Keeps it off the barrel, improving accuracy.
I have already replaced the trigger return springs on every gun I have that MCARBO makes a spring kit for, and they all work great, so I figured this would be just as good, and it is. It just makes the hollow fore end of the original Savage Axis stock feel more solid.
Awesome thinking on Mcabos part. These fit perfectly and really take the flimsy twist out of the older axis stocks. The new stocks from axis have their own strength support built in; but if you have older channel stock get them.
Easy to install.helped tighten up the stock without spending a fortune ,still a cheep stock but for what I use it for it helped

So, I did not vet this product enough. I did not realize Savage had upgraded their stocks and that is what I owned. Nonetheless, I purchased this adapter and lo and behold it would not fit my rifle. No worries their customer service was quick to remedy the issue at no additional cost to me. They were fast in sending me a return label and did not charge a restocking fee as I never opened the kit.
Still got little twist left to right but when I get on gun to take a shot barrel no longer touches the end of stock, that's good enough for me, the loctite dries very fast and I don't recommend test fitting I had to drill a screw in a piece to get it out

I have an Axis 3006, and its always shot great for the price. Perhaps even better than expected. The flimsy stock always bothered me, but not quite enough for a whole new stock. Im glad MCARBO makes this enhancement to make my stock more rigid. At 1000 yds now, Im still not sure Im hitting anything, but Im confident the group is tighter. Thanks for a great product and price. This kit was a breeze to install due to the thought that went into its design as well as being manufactured with quality materials (made in the USA to boot 🇺🇸👍😎)…between the stock improvement kit and the M*CARBO trigger upgrade for the Savage Axis this accurate budget friendly hunting rifle takes on the qualities of rifles costing twice (or more) as much…I highly recommend these upgrades from the folks at M*CARBO 👍👍👍👍👍
This stock stabilizer kit was an amazing change to the (cheap) plastic stock that came from the factory on my Savage Axis. I knew the Axis is a lower end entry level but, it can be converted to a nice piece of equipment, for not a lot of $$$$. I installed a Shaw 24 in Varmint barrel so the stock had to be worked so the barrel would fit. This work did not affect the function of the stabilizer kit. If you buy a Savage Axis before you do any shooting, whether it be just target or hunting invest this stock stabilizer kit.
The provided pieces fit in the forestock like a glove and don't cause any interference as long as you seat them fully and correctly. My stock still has a little vertical flex after the upgrade, but much much less than before and feels more much more rigid without adding too much weight. When you do this upgrade, I'd recommend filling the buttstock at the same time. Both will compliment eachother and reduce the hollow sound of the stock substantially.
Everything fit properly. Perfect instructions. Love that it came with super glue and it wasn’t the cheap super glue.
