MCarbo’s video makes this M&P45 kit look possible to DIY but don’t try it. I unexpectedly had to buy lots of extras and still couldn’t finish it myself. Had to buy rotary tool ($26), polishing bits ($6), Flitz ($12), gun punch/brass hammer kit ($32), striker block spacer ($13), and sight pusher tool ($39) because only it could budge the S&P M&P 45 rear sight. The OEM striker spacer is a thin metal disk that slips off the spring so I bought a plastic one with a thin nub to hold the spring but that quickly broke. Then I persevered for over 4 hours to get the metal disk correctly reinstalled or I’d have a useless pistol. At this point, I had 2 springs left to install but gave up. I could NOT punch out either receiver roll pins with any reasonable amount of force; and I feared if did remove them that I might not get them go back in. Besides my concern about having a gun I could not reassemble, I had already invested 8 hours making this upgrade, 2 hours of which were polishing metal, and didn’t want to spend another few hours polishing more parts. The parts and polishing I could do on the upper helped ease the trigger pull but may never know how the full upgrade feels. If I could had read this kind of review then I would have mailed my gun to MCarbo and paid them to do the upgrade. Don’t make my mistake…just pay them $95 to do it!
