Simple to say... IT WORKS!. . I put on my Lcp2 380 and 22lr....mag has not dropped out on its own since . I watched the video on installation and did it my self.

I did have an occasional magazine drop at the range and I was glad to come across this here at Mcarbo when I was picking up some other items. It does make the mag release a little stiff but it solves the problem of the unintentional mag drop. It is a good upgrade.

Replaced this spring while adding a couple of different parts I purchased here. This spring was a tad more tricky to install. The videos definitely made it doable.

Nice upgrade but had to tweak

It fixed the problem, no doubt. But it also initially created a problem. In that upon first installation the tension was so much that to reinsert a magazine the release had to be pressed in. I removed and tweaked the spring tension twice to get the right balance. It's a good solution but needs refinement.

Nice upgrade when changing the rest of the parts

I decided to upgrade this part since I was also installing the spring kit and trigger. I have accidentally dropped the mag in my back pocket before, so this should help.

The install is a little tricky, but it only took 3 or 4 attempts to get it in place. The videos are great.

I would recommend the Universal Spring Tool, it helps to hold the spring let when pushing it in place. I think it made the job easier, and the price was right.

Noticeable difference on the amount of pressure needed to drop the magazine, but not too much. Completely corrected the intermittent magazine drop while firing issue. One more happy customer for me.

No more mag drops.

When I got my Ruger LCP II, I was so disappointed during the first range test because the magazine kept dropping after every shot or two even though my fingers were nowhere near the mag release button. After some research, I found this site and ordered the new mag release spring. Installed it myself and now the magazine stays put with every shot. I put a 50 round box through it and not one drop. Great product!!!

Outstanding fix

My new LCP II 380 was dropping the mag every shot. We slow mo’d vid and determined nothing was pushing on the mag release. Bought the spring and used the extremely helpful video to do the install. Took it to the range and no more mag drops. Love the M*Carbo products!!!

Peace of mind

Necessary for pocket carry. Once in the pin hole easier to hold in place from the top with a finger then slide a flat blade in from the bottom to manipulate the spring to it's home position.

Peace of mind upgrade

I should have bought this when I bought my springs set and guide rod...not after! Requires the same break down of pistol as for trigger spring kit. One advantage to buying it later is you are really familiar with LCP dis assembly and reassembly !

problem solved

The reviews for this product are getting boring at this point because it just works. Mag was falling out under recoil, replaced The mag release spring with the mcarbo spring, shot 100 problem free rounds. It just works.

I am very happy with this product. I purchased it after having my Ruger magazine dislodge from the weapon during firing. I received the new extra power release spring within a week after ordering. I decided to have an armorer install it rather than trying it myself.

I fired the weapons today without any problems. The magazines stayed seated during firing without any malfunctions.

I highly recommend this product.

Thank you,

I received the Extra Power Spring and Stainless Steel Guide Rod for the Ruger LCPII and everything is good.

I have installed them according to the M*Carbo videos.

The videos made the installation process so easy.

The release button is now more firm and takes a little more pressure to release the mag than the original spring.

Now I have to go and try out the Ruger LCPII with the new parts.

I sure hope the mag spring solves the mag drop problem.
