Installation was quick even with limited experience disassembling and reassembling firearms. The trigger spring tool was worth the couple extra bucks to save the hassle of installing without it or making my own given that i didnt have the right size dowel laying around. Performance wise, I dont have a tool to accurately test the trigger pull weight before and after but the stock parts definitely felt like a clunky shotgun trigger. After the upgraded spring install it's much closer to a hunting rifle trigger pull. Can't beat it for under $30 and a half hour (including the full clean, lube, reassemble) worth of work
Worked, but not as well as I hoped for.
I have a Lymann trigger pull gauge... measured 7 lb. - 6 pull average before install. After install, 6 pull average was 5 lb. 1 0z. so approximately 27% decrease. It was noticeably better, but I was hoping for 50 % decrease. These Factory Mossberg triggers are HORRIBLE, so Im not faulting MCARBO for my results... there's only so much one can do... "You can't polish a turd!"
I installed this on a Shockwave that already had a pretty decent trigger at 4 3/4 lbs. I was hoping for a noticeable improvement, but only wound up with a 4 1/2 lb. trigger with the new spring kit. All and all, I don't think that it was worth the effort for me.
I now know the full details of the inside and outside of my Hellcat. Installed the trigger kit was flawless. Will definitely be making copious purchases in the future for my Sub 2000 upgrade. Well done!!
I have 2 near and dear friends that have recently purchased maverick 88 shotguns. After doing the installation both triggers drop the hammer around 4lbs and functioned properly. I can't wait to get their feedback.
The first gun that I ever purchased was a Mossberg 500 and I've made upgrades from stock to choke, and the I've always wanted to improve the trigger but wasn't aware of any trigger upgrades. After some research I found MCARBO and this kit is superb. BY FAR worth the $20 to improve the trigger, drops the weight of the pull and makes it smoother in the process. If I buy another 500 I'll DEFINITELY grab another MCARBO trigger spring kit. The fact that MCARBO also puts together simple, informative installation instructions is a bonus and a reflection of their high standards for customer service and satisfaction. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.
1st: ordered this kit and had it in hand in 4 days. 2nd: Installation was clear and easy to follow. 3rd: I now have a Mossberg 835 slug gun with a 4.68 lb. trigger... Doesn't get any better than that.. Quality parts from good honest people.. OORAH..!!!
Install on my Maverick 88 was just as easy as following along with the video. The trigger is dramatically better after installing this spring kit. I would recommend MCARBO to anyone looking to improve their trigger pull.
Did not reduce the trigger pull on my 25 year old 500 at all but it did take all the creep and grittiness out of it! I started with a 6# trigger and still have a 6# trigger but it is now much more crisp! This is the first MCARBO spring kit that I haven't gotten a reduction with but I am still pleased enough to buy this one again because it took all the slop out!
will this work on my Mossberg 930 spx auto loader?!?
About a 35% reduction in pull measured with a digital gauge. M*CARBO hits it out of the park again with their videos.
Hey Chris just wanted to thank you for your e-mail about installing the parts i ordered. The sprig kit for the Mossberg shotty is awesome!!! I had already polished the sear in the trigger group of my 835 and that helped some it got the pull down to 7 lbs n change but still wasn't as light as I wanted so I hit the ole inter-web and found you guys. The order i placed actually got here before a order i placed the day before on Midway and that's really saying something cause those guys are fast!! About the springs for my 835 WOW!!! The install went as expected and the trigger is absolutely awesome!!! Breaks at 3 lbs and change and is crisp no creep whatsoever. I will highly recommend yall's products to anyone and the speed of delivery was second to none. I installed this kit on my maverick 88 12 gauge. Super easy install and really a HUGE improvement in the trigger. Highly recommend this kit. Dropped the trigger pull from 6 #’s 15.4 oz’s to 3#’s 12.1 oz’s. That is 10 pull averages.
I didn't care for the stock Mossberg trigger pull. It felt like it wasn't ever going to break. I thought it would be worth trying these springs and it really made a positive difference. Trigger breaks easier the way it should have from Mossberg. Not anywhere too easy, just cleaner feeling. I bought the nifty wooden tool which made the installation easy. Not difficult after watching the instruction video. It was good to learn that anyway. If your Mossberg trigger feels like it's never gonna break then these springs will make a pleasant difference.
This really made my Maverick 88's trigger pull so much smoother.
